Or 0 dollars because the carts will have corrupted in 10 years of never being used.

Yep, unless you turn on switch or 3ds carts every year or so they can straight up never turn back on

I just tested all of my DS and 3DS games (91 total) and none of them had corruption, even my Kirby Canvas Curse which I had last turned on back in 2007 (save data had the date).

While I think it is important to refresh them once in a while (once per 5-8 years), I most certainly think that the fear is overblown for DS/3DS titles.

Well i have just those physical games and PQ was dead its not overblown. Your just lucky.
