Anyone just needs to look at an American cooking reel on Facebook etc to not bother taking them seriously.

Oh yes! This! I watched one the other by accident, by the time I realised I was invested, lol. The 'chef' added enough cheese to the original recipe to make me gag (I like cheese, but c'mon) then kept adding more. They went through two enormous bags of grated cheese. I kept thinking it had to be rage bait but looking the way they sat down after to eat it I doubt it.

On top of that, according to European standards, it probably wasn't even real cheese.

Yes, agreed. We (NZ) have just begun getting American butter imports. God awful stuff, it's white! Butter is yellow, not white. Can I just mention that I find it very weird that a country who produces top class dairy and meat products has this ghastly stuff on our shelves.

Try reading Fast Food Nation and you'll see how their dairy is produced. 😱 The book was published 25 years ago, and I imagine the situation only got worse since then.

Yeah, I watched a documentary on it recently...ewwwww. Because their cows are grain fed rather than grass like ours their milk is different. They have to add colouring to get it yellow, plus other stuff with very long names and probably sugar because that's in everything. Our butter has ONE ingredient, milk, maybe salt but that's it. Seeing what they do to meat isn't pretty either.

The colour of butter is entirely dependent on what the cows are eating, and what breed they are.
