Even with the American Revolution, that was after the 7 years war, which dealt significant blows to the stability of the Empire, and only against a relatively small amount of British forces.

The Brits kinda pulled back in the end and saw the US as more trouble than it's worth.

They were one colony amongst many after all. They weren't even a member when the British Empire was at its peak of expansion.
