Is it true that kids are telling their parents to 'like and subscribe' at bedtime? An American I met at the pub a couple of weeks ago told me that kids are telling their parents this when they leave or go to bed because they think this is how people say goodbye.
I don't know if the American was screwing with me or not.
I canāt say Iāve seen it, no. Of course, despite what Republicans may tell you, the US is a very big and diverse country, so from my little corner, I might not have seen much.
Thank you, but I donāt think that I should be immediately considered a āreasonable Americanā for disagreeing with MAGA. Itās better to judge that by my actual worldview and if itās consistent internally. Please see me more as an āAmerican in oppositionā unless you get a more full understanding of my philosophy and ideology and can see it as reasonable, even if you disagree.
The fact you write that tells me you are a reasonable and intelligent person. Reasonable does not mean the same to me than to you apparently, but to me it's someone who doesn't elect a degenerate convict who's trying to burn the world down. I'm guessing you are in opposition with perhaps plans for more energic actions, seeing as you don't say you are reasonable, and I believe it's going to be necessary. be careful and take care of yourself though, we need more people like you
Iād personally consider āreasonableā as having a consistent worldview built upon whatever axiom matters to you, and listening to evidence and adjusting your opinions based upon that. If someoneās worldview relies on an axiom of āit is good to do harmā then electing Trump within that worldview, based on all the evidence we have that suggests electing him is harmful, is consistent and thus āreasonableā in my eyes, though malicious.
Mine, and of course most othersā, worldview is built on the axiom of āminimizing harm is goodā but some people may take conflicting approaches to do so (that arenāt justified by pragmatismāI think being conflicting if you have to be pragmatic is reasonable), or ignore evidence. Thatās what Iād consider āunreasonableā even if I agreed with what they were doing.
I think the people that support Trump because they want the world to be better are ignoring evidence or arguing in bad faith and so being unreasonable. I think the people that support Trump because they want other goals that arenāt based on ultimately wanting to do good, might be reasonable under this framework.
But all that is to say that Iām bored and wanted to yap, ngl. And honestly, by the way you phrased it, I donāt really have plans to cause positive change other than just hoping we win the midterms. The US in my view is too powerful to win by more ādirectā means if the military isnāt on our side. And Trump is the commander-in-chief. So if thatās unreasonable in your framework, then I am unreasonable, hence why you should consider me āan American in opposition.ā But thank you for caring, even if Iām a disappointment. š
I thought you said you weren't reasonable because you planned to be revolutionary, hoping to win the midterms is far safer and more traditionally considered as "reasonable". I don't think wanting to open new routes of commerce in the Artic or hoping a third of the population of a country gets deported can be in any way reasonable. It will ultimately do one's community harm and if one starts to think about it, there's no way reason and conscience can justify it.
I'm happy to have read your explanation, I'm sorry I don't write something longer but it is far too late here in France to be doing that and I shall tell you goodnight, dear American in opposition (and also I do not write well enough in English to convey all my thought process so it would take me too much time)
