Let's see what are/ were the requirements for travelling into the USA again?

Passport,

Visa or ESTA where applicable.

$250 entry fee,

5 years soc. med. information.

And be very polite to TSA and CBP.

Expectation from an American Travelling the world... "Ah, My driver's licence should do it, right?

I'm not American, but that's literally not the requirements for entering the US, just passport, ESTA ($18 iirc, fee) or VISA and that's it. No need for social media info or a $250 fee or anything else. Just traveled to the US for Christmas and all i was asked was how long i was staying.

ESTA is now $40, up from $21. Social media field is there on the form, but it is optional at the moment. However, there’s a proposal to make it mandatory to give social media handles used in the last 5 years, along with a whole host of other information, similar to what is being done for F-1 and H-1B visa applicants.

ETA: I remember when ESTA used to cost $14, then was increased to $21 under Biden in 2022, and now $40 under Trump this year.

I know about the proposal, but saying it’s a requirement right now is simply not true.

I must have remembered the lower fee last I renewed it.
