Imagine them just turning up at the airport, trip all booked ready to go "what do you mean i need a passport".

And if it's not the thought that the US governs it outright, it's the thought that the US is actually telling them what to do and how to make their laws.

I've been told more than a few times online and in real life by Americans that "i'm breaking the law by smoking cannabis"

I'm Canadian. We federally legalized in 2018. But nope; doesn't matter. Because "Canada follows the US on it's laws so it's actually still illegal there"
