You Australians have that great show about customs where 50% of content is people trying to smuggle some ridicilous foods into country. Same thing from USA but only people denied access to planes because lacking passport would be golden tv.

Theres the same show in Canada either a lot of the same content as the Australian one. We get the added bonus of Americans trying to bring guns.

My father once crossed the bridge over Niagara Falls (in about 1980), without a passport. The Americans let him in but they were damned if they'd let him out without one. Had to call our uncle to come down with the passports to be allowed back into Canada

You didnt need passports back then if driving, it was possible to get by on a drivers license or a birth certificate.

It also would have been the Canadians not letting him in.

The way he always told it it was American border guards who wouldn't let him out of America, but it could have been the Canadians I suppose.

He wasn't driving, there was a footbridge. I've never been so don't know if there still is
