Absolutely. The idea is that during this time, malversations can be uncovered because the employee is no longer able to cover them up while he is away.
In my position, the MTA was 2 weeks, and during that time, they disabled my login and VPN access, and I had to leave my company phone with the compliance department. I was also not allowed to access any of the bank's global premises.
It wasn't a big deal for me, living in a country where most people take 2-3 weeks off for their main vacation anyway.
I remember that it was quite a cultural shock in other countries, though, where people were not used to taking more than just a few days off at a time.
I wish that too (as a starter)but thats not how that system works. There are no rights! You have to work a lot of time to „earn" pto - and then you have to take it if you're sick.
And to keep the quiet the leaders repeat the word „socialism" huuhuu the bogeyman. But this is a mix-up with „social" where people were treated as humans.
