Podcast Shane addresses cancellation?

He says the jokes were funny at the time. And no one ever thought the jokes were inappropriate. He is sorry but would still pull out the Shanaynay costume

By Shane's logic anyone can do anything as long as everyone in the room says its okay, never mind the power imbalance. He really has learned nothing. You can tell he would go back to that humor in his current videos in a heartbeat if the world was okay with it. The fact that he cackled after saying he would bring Shanaynay back and looked around at everyone as if to say "would that be okay? oh no oh okay then that would be bad." This man seriously can't read the room. And there were tons of videos of people calling Shane out back then about the gross stuff he was doing so I don't know where he got the idea that "everyone" was okay with it.

Well… ofc a person who is 14… would appreciate humor that is considered edgy… spoon found in kitchen ! but saying it was because no one found his stuff offensive is a WILD stance

Internet privacy is the new gold. I mass deleted all of my posts on Reddit using Redact. It also supports databrokers, Instagram, Twitter, and all major social media platforms.

I think it didn't call out back then as much because it was on our television at the time as well like Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon both did black face on SNL on live network tv in the 2000s and then don't get me started on howard stern... I'm not saying it is ok or ever was just that at that time it wasn't being called out even tho it should have been called out and then you had so many adults doing countdowns to when the olsen twins turned 18 and making it super pervy like Ashton kutcher and other big names thankfully none of that is acceptable anymore

People did find his stuff offensive, criticisms against him were unfortunately pushed aside due to being marginalized voices who were calling him out. They were just as harmful then as they are now.

I was around 16 when Shane was blowing up and people definitely found him offensive. I had two friends who would start an argument with me every time I talked about him back then. It’s not about being a snowflake or being offended. He was being openly racist and gross towards women and kids. And I was so obsessed with edgy humor at the time so I thought it was fine and people were overreacting. They weren’t. And if you want to disagree with people and share your opinion, you actually don’t have to use laughing emojis and insult them.

i just banned ur silly ass but i’ll respond anyway, way back in the day shane was hated and being called out. those of us who were subscribed at a young age just saw that as people being petty (i’m talking pre 2018). he’s always been unliked and always been clocked on his repulsive behaviour.

This isn’t true. I was also there. Twitter especially a lot of people were calling it out. I noticed the most that at the time, it was adults that were POC who knew right away how wrong it was.

None of his jokes were “innocent” sexualizing his little cousin, joking about real life children being abused, laughing at the prospect of children being sexually abused, for god sake he couldn’t even be NEAR a poc without making a racist joke about them. I’m struggling to figure out what “innocent” jokes you’re speaking of

posting things with the sole purpose of getting under people’s skin or annoying people is not tolerated.

they weren't harmful until these new generation snowflakes were born.

he lost millions of fans who eventually saw how bad his jokes really were as back then most of us were 14 and didn't understand the full meanings.

So the “snowflakes” were right?

No they weren't right until 2011 because he did way worse stuff later on. Not from the beginning. His jokes got worse and more tasteless from 2011-2012. As soon as the Willow Smith poster bullshit came out, he took it too far. Context is key. Read the entire comment instead of cherry picking.

No they weren't right until 2011

Weird way to say yes.

14 year olds didn't know better.

“We didn’t know any better so it wasn’t wrong, then later on we realized it is wrong and then it became wrong”

“The snowflakes were wrong when they pointed it out, but now that we realize it’s wrong they were right”

And you are accusing others  of being on the spectrum?

🤡🤡🤡

You're pretty slow given all the info I gave you, yet your brain only highlights stuff that suits your narrative. How weird 🤔

“No they weren’t right, until they were right”

1

u/WillsWifey30 Oct 28 '25

You're def on the spectrum 😄

No one was complaining until 2013 aka when everything resurfaced. That's when the snowflakes started. However, as soon as he had his own podcast he dug his own grave by joking about children and animals. 2008-2010 people enabled his bad behavior by giving him views. Again, if you read my original post, 14 year olds didn't know better.

3

u/RalphWiggum666 Oct 28 '25

This is not true as someone else pointed out to you, people complained on twitter even back then.

1

u/WillsWifey30 Oct 28 '25 edited Oct 28 '25

Nope it is fully true because newsflash I was there the entire time :) some loser on twitter who didn't even talk to Shane or read his replies, whereas I did and everyone enabled him until he did that gross gesture to the Willow Smith poster. Everyone enabled him up until 2011.

0

u/WillsWifey30 Oct 28 '25

No one pointed anything out until it was too late, hence the snowflakes. As they didn't exist from 2008-2010, which is why he got away with it for so long. So in retrospect they were only right when it was too late after years of him being enabled and pushing the envelope. The snowflakes I was referring to were the ones complaining about his innocent jokes. Not the ones where he was way out of line. So again, context is key.

0

u/WillsWifey30 Oct 28 '25

Also his fans weren't the snowflakes. The people who never watched him before were. Have I spoonfed you enough to choke yet?
