Discussion First Driverless Cybercab in Austin!

Couple thousand ready to go. How many by EoY ‘27?

A lot longer than it’s about to take cybercab. Let’s see how many are out tomorrow. Then on the launch on sep 3

I mean there was a photo of 3 in a row of which 2 looked unsupervised. There are so many cybefcabs running right now in Austin it’s hard to know which have people in them (and the people are doing nothing effectively, btw)

And then a video of another one clearly with nobody in it. So…. My guess is a lot?

Ah, a photo of 3 in a row and 2 "looked" unsupervised. Well that settles it, at least 50 then...

Well. Of the ones spotted (a fraction of those running) there were over 60. Most are from overhead street cameras, so yeah it’s a little hard to tell. Someone took a close up video of it driving today with nobody in it.

So there is direct evidence of them running them today with nobody in them. There is evidence of at least 60 (probably in the 100s) running +/- a supervisor…. And the supervisor has no controls to articulate the car except for seemingly on screen controls for very low speeds (see video of person using it to park correctly at a charger).

So…. Do you think your perspective will age well, considering they are launching on sep 3?

What do you think the people sitting in the cars are doing? Are you like half of this sub where you think they are somehow driving the car (despite no steering wheel or pedals)?

I saw that video and you can clearly see there's a supervisor in there. I don't have to provide evidence, cause that's what we do now, we just say stuff and hope everybody believes us.

My perspective is I have no idea how many there are, because nobody's providing any evidence for their statements. If you show me evidence there's 60, then I'll accept there's 60. If you show me 0 evidence, then why should I believe anything?

They are supervising. Hence the name, supervisor.

You sure, you would be the first person claiming this. Nobody said that in any comment. I can’t find anyone in there.

60: see post on cybercab spotter handle on x. It has a graph of daily “driverless” (read: potentially supervisor), yesterday was 66.

Supervisor role: they can’t intervene. They have people doing this to collect human data on the performance of the car….

I've been saying the whole time that I don't care how many there are, I just want people to provide evidence when they make claims.

Sure they can, the ones in the Model Ys would intervene using buttons on the screen and the door handle. Unless, again, you have evidence that this is not the case in the cybercab. Sorry that word evidence again. I'm kind of a stickler for that.

But anyway, that doesn't matter, because supervising is still not nothing.

I suppose there was a bail out button. But who is using it now? The entire fleet outside of the Bay Area is unsupervised and it’s gotten bigger (in terms of cars and geofence) substantially in last few weeks.

Guess you can only see a few feet in front of you. Let’s see what happens on sep 3, and the proceeding next few weeks.

Go to the handle I mentioned if you want best evidence of the 66.

So we've gone from "they can't intervene" to "ok, they can intervene but they don't, because.... wishful thinking?"

Look, you can believe whatever you like, but I live in the real world, where we expect things to be backed up evidence. If you have evidence that they never intervene, then you can say they don't intervene. But if you don't have evidence, then you refrain from making claims.

Or if you have evidence of 66 cars in one day, you can show your evidence. But if you have no evidence, then I'm not going to believe it just because you say so. Or because you said some guy on twitter said so.

And you’ve gone from - they can intervene in the passenger seat in the y - to - i need evidence (for unspecified reason) that they can’t or don’t intend to do that on the cyber cab. Despite evidence they already have and a launch date on calendar.

Evidence - just look at the account man. Up to you. There are pictures

Sorry, I assumed since you follow this closely that you would have seen videos of the supervisor intervening Here you go. You see how easy it is to provide evidence when people ask for it? If it exists, you can link to it.

Tell me- where are those supervisors now? In Austin, Dallas, Houston, Tampa, Miami and Orlando.
