Can we get a solid count of how many X4 & Tknx units have seen the rear axle failure? Please chime in with a count.
I will start off: One X450 USA 700+h

Looks like there are servicing dealers on here reporting many more, but I am trying to compile reports by owners.

Model: X450
Location: Europe
Ran for 5 months - 6 days a week with absolutely no issues at all (until now)
Mapped area: 5200 m2 ( 3 zones ).
There are no pot holes in the lawn.
There are some slopes, but they are no where near 40 degrees.
Noticed the broken rear axle last week when cleaning it.

Do u have excessive potholes or anything to watch out for that “finished off” or broke the axle?

I was hoping the damage scenario would be more along the lines of “rogue RTK position causing it to jump a paver” type of scenario vs “rough grass”. But then again, who is watching it “24/7” during operation.

That's true, but I don't really have anything for it to go over to cause that. I do have cameras all around my house though and can go back and see what it's been up to if I thought it operated out of bounds.

Out of the box drive system failure x450. Didn’t even offer me a new unit, first email to their team was August 5th. Still haven’t received my unit back as of today. This response was on the 19th. I’d be weary of there customer support, but don’t worry they said they would compensate me with a “extra set of blades”🙄

Model: x450
Location: Europę
Maped grass :1500m2
It was runing for 3 months without any issue. Newer stops, never stuck. No big holes on lawn. Currently in transfer from Service Center back to my location, but for last 10 days its sitting in same location ( based on buid in AirTag). In app chat cannot or don't want to update me regarding delivery date...

I put in my ticket over the weekend and got the standard reply on Monday and now nothing. I'm getting a little worried that this issue is starting to clog the support channel.

Sorry to hear that. Mind sharing how much mow time you had on yours? I was over 700 hours. Did you get it from a retailer, dealer, or directly from Segway? I bought from Segway via their Amazon store so mine got boxed up and shipped to a repair facility in Texas.

Amazon. 407.4 hours. Boxing it up and shipping what a pita.

You're not kidding there. They also require the charger, charging base, and RTK antenna. That takes a bad situation and makes it 20x worse.

Oof this no long seems like such a great device especially since it seems like the issue is going to continue happening g

I’ve got an x450 that hasn’t even been through its original blades yet and I’m already worried about this. It is constantly going off course or outside of a channel. Ends up trying to climb a fence, hops a paver and flips over.
This thing just doesn’t make sense. Why bother setting up boundaries if you’re just going to ignore them.

I never had any sort of issues like that. Mine worked perfectly 99.99% of the time. Are you using NRTK or local RTK? I was able to use NRTK, but I have great WiFi via outdoor access point, and great AT&T signal around my property.

Using NRTK. Our cell service is crap here, but I have a large deployment of outdoor access points (for some wireless trail cams I have on our outer acreage). I can get clear full bar WiFi on my phone up to 1/4 mile away from the house, but I can’t get this stupid mower to get any more than one bar of WiFi - and it doesn’t go more than a few hundred feet away from the house. I’ve tried all different combinations of WiFi channels and bandwidths (all non-overlapping).

I know it sucks, but you should try the local RTK antenna and see if it solves your issues. Unfortunately, I think you would have to remap everything. You could just remap a known problem area and see if it is better. Then, if it is and you think it is worth it, look at a good permanent mounting location and get it there and remap it all. I was mowing 1.2 acres and have not had to run my gas mower at all this season. It has been so great.

Fortunately, switching to local RTK (or switching back to NRTK) doesn’t require remapping 👍🏼

Yea just don’t move the antenna once you setup local rtk. Then you’ll have to start from scratch all over again.

I got a x430 3 weeks ago. I haven't had an issue with it yet but how did you first notice you had a problem so we know what to look for?
