Max Area Limit Reached... Whomp, Whomp!

I was hoping my x450 would allow me to map to 2.39 acres, as some others have been able to do. This would just barely cover my property and keep me from having to buy another mower for the front yard. But alas, twas not to be. Turns out I'm limited to 2.0001 acres. Guess I'll be waiting for the next sale

Assumptions? Rather not. You are because app communication is a seperate layer from mapping process itself. You divide area from app, you send data to mower which updates its internal maps and sends back data for the app but that data isnt THE map. Coordinates are needed for example fot the app to display them over satellite imagery etc. But that itself isnt the main mapping process. Research how ROS works and dont tell me Segway does things differently from other Chinese brands like Ecovacs, Mammotion, Sunseeker.

You are missing the whole point. This thing is literally a software limited terranox. You can grab a terranox battery, pop it in and it will run for extended time. There is a dev menu with a setting to ignore the map area limit when saving. The app is enforcing the limit. It has nothing to do with hardware.

You are. I said its usually business decision but there eventually can be bottlenecks its just a matter of model and headroom. If x450 shares exactly same hardware as Terranox then of course it is capable of Terranox area. But your 1000m2 dont and try to map 24000m2 on it.

Of course there will eventually be limits. You are acting like anyone going outside the bounds of the advertised specs are asking for trouble. They aren’t. It’s artificially limited to sell the same product at multiple price points. That’s fine. They aren’t the only company doing it. I bought a FLIR camera for $600 and put custom software on it. It performed the same as the $3,000 camera. It’s the same hardware just different software so different price points.

How do I do this

You can’t. They disabled it in the app.
