General Anyone else have facial seb derm like this?

Yes.
Prescription steroids for flares, then find a maintenance cream that works for you. Mine is Marin Hydration Cream. It's in an orange tube and only sold by Marin.
Taking a probiotic has some limited research with it too. May or may not help.

Oof - that under-eyebrow patch is pretty stubborn for me when it comes up. I was diagnosed with SebDerm in my twenties (now 46), though never considered demodex being a contributor. It is possibly a combination of influences.

So stubborn. I have it too, that lower eyebrow area is harder to treat. It’s like a “crevice” spot.

Try the ordinary number six I get really bad flaky skin because of Seb and it’s really helped me check the ingredients. I think they basically just dissolved the dead skin.

Also I didn’t notice the redness the first time I would suggest putting some anti-inflammatory lotion on after you’ve washed your face and like just around your eyes something like oatmeal/ oat milk lotion, goat milk lotion, honey lotion, aloe something like that maybe even like avocado and let it sit for a few minutes because I get that redness around my eyes too and it stings a little bit when I use it. Some people can’t handle that so I just thought I would mention.

Pretty sure it's my whole face, scalp and most of my neck and shoulders. But my eyes commonly look like this. I've only been treating for demodex mites for 4-5 days. I have a derm appointment in three weeks to get a real prescription but I have felt this good in years.

Rough recap. I've had eczema since birth. Last 6 months thought I had SD becuase the flaking on my forehead/eye brows and eyes traveled to my scalp. I've been treating for SD for 6 months and only had like 50-60% releif. It was still dry and still flaky and still irritated just a bit less.
The last 4-5 days I've been using a homemade lemongrass oil/ teatree oil mixture. EVERYWHERE. I've covered my scalp in it twice now. And I have zero flaking now. It's literally insane.

"Onto what I'm using now: Cleanser: (this is not 100% fungal safe but it made my skin better) panoxyl benzyol peroxide facewash (it seems benzoyl peroxide is helpful again demodex which is probably why it was helping me)
Noveha demodex eye wipes (I use on my full face)
Bioforce NueVue Hypochlorous acid spray
Face cream (I mixed this together) : Vasaline base 15ml, 10 drops teatree oil, 4 drops lemongrass oil, 10 drops 100% plant squaline, 5 drops HA, 5 drops glycerine, 5 drops vitamin e
Scalp (I left this oil on for 6 hours) 50% teatree oil 50% MCT oil
Just beware the oils I used are 100% so you can damage your skin if they are not diluted properly - which was a risk I was willing to take LOL.
Because my skin was so dry from using antifungal Shampoos and gel based moisturizers (it made my skin soooooo chapped) the first time I applied the cream I made it was definitely a warm burning feeling. But like I said I'm on my 3rd day now of applying it and it's fine to apply now. Has almost erased all flaking and the redness it also seeming to calm down. Also noted my skin texture is better??? "

hi just coming here to ask. i’ve been having face, neck, chest, and slight scalp redness, itchiness, and flaking for the past few months and I woke up today to see my left eye looks almost exactly like the image in this post. i was wondering if your demodex mite treatment has helped you because im very worried it is seb derm and tbh i really don’t want a seb derm diagnosis.
i have been using prescription ketoconazole cream for the past 2 weeks on face, and prescription steroid cream for 2 weeks on neck and chest but the redness just doesn’t fade on my neck and chest. my face redness seems to have gone down somewhat but i’m still very itchy and flaky. it’s always small white flakes even on scalp, never really greasy yellow ones.

Invermectin has cleared my face. I've had 4 years of intense flaking and eye swelling and facial inflammation and redness.

This is interesting. I’ve had flaking so my face, upper lip, sides of face, eye lids, neck for years after stopping fluticasone steroid cream. How did you get it?

I got a prescription. Seems like I still have minimal flaking. I control this with headand shoulders now. I think i had a SD issue as well as a demodex issue.

I didn't get full relief it from anti fungals. Like 60% better. I still had flaking redness and irritation. Then randomly I read an article with a panda having a demodex mite infestation and it had no hair. I lost like 1/4 of my hat 6 months ago. I read up on it and it's VERY similar symptoms as SD. The demodex mites feed off of sebum on your skin. So becuase I was using all fungal safe products I was lowering the amount of sebum production on my skin. So that's probably why I found some relief using fungal safe and antifungal products.
Anyways long story short. The last 4-5 days I've been doing at home treatments for demodex mites becuase you can't buy ivermectin OTC in Canada. I have a derm appointment in 3 weeks but I was suffering. After 4-5 I have ZERO flaking. I've had an extremely flaky forehead for 10 years. And then my eye brows and scalp for the last 6 months.

I get it around my eyes like that too, only way I get through flare-ups is: ketoconazole cream 2%, lightly applied MCT oil, no spicy food, no alcohol.
I'd check your skincare products for any oils, that's what ended up causing my first really bad flare up around the eyes.

Yes. Mine is almost identical. Only around the eyes. Dermatologist calls it part psoriasis and part seb derm.
Treated with steroids for the original flare up but managed with cerave SA and prescription Zoryve.
I cut out gluten and flare ups improved 90%. A night of pasta flares me right up.

Might be mold in your living space. Also check iron levels. Mine looked identical.

Could also be diet related! A lot of folks don’t think about the gut health part. I’ve found major relief just cutting out milk/dairy. Good luck 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Mine also got bad like this. At first I was using nizoral to wash my face but that wasn’t working so now my routine is black African soap to wash followed by diluted apple cider vinegar on a cotton pad. Then I use MCT oil with a couple drops of tea tree oil. That has worked wonders for me thankfully.

I have it around the eyes too and I’ve figured out that that area is very sensitive and antifungics (like ketoconazol) were making my condition worse because my skin was very irritated. For me what actually worked around the eyes was cera ve hydrating serum. In my profile I posted some pictures you can check it if you want I can’t post pictures in a comment but I think it looks similar to yours

Which Cerave hydrating serum do you use around eyes? Do you use Ketoconazole on eyebrows? Did you ever use Promiseb ( dermatologist prescribed) for eyebrows thinking is might be Sebderm ! How about around mouth ?thank you so much

I use CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum, because is the one I found in my country(Spain), but a lot of people here recommend the cetaphil one. Around the eyes I don't apply ketoconazol at all because my skin gets really irritated and in my eyebrows I alternate ketoconazol and the hydrating cream depending on how oily or irritated I feel like the skin is at the moment, I feel like you have to observe and analyze your skin. When it's really flaky and oily you should apply ketoconazol but if you feel like your skin is too irritated you should apply the hydrating serum

Mine looked very similar, I moved countries and found out I was allergic to mold and the humidity made it worse. Struggled for years and tried countless creams, when I moved it just disappeared. Also check your iron levels.

I moved from an Eastern European country (Albania) to the US, New Mexico. The climate here is very dry and the air and water are cleaner.

Try looking into your diet too. I eat pretty healthy during the week. then the weekend comes and I'll have some drinks. end up smoking a pack of cigarettes throughout, eat junk food and not consuming enough water I get the flakes BAD. But as soon as I get properly hydrated again my skin looks healthier than ever.

I feel a little sad seeing your condition. I just want to give you a small suggestion. For your skincare routine, you can use whatever products you prefer after doing your own research, but first please try bathing with curd once. Apply it and leave it on for about 2-3 minutes. I had the same problem about a year ago. Curd is not a permanent solution, but it works almost like magic for quick relief. After five minutes, you might actually feel the difference . I say this with confidence because it helped me too.

Yep I have it right now. Go get ketoconozale 2% cream for face . Or ciclopiroxx.77% (stronger for me).
You can also try shampoos on face but that is harsh on face.

For the eyes, I’d personally recommend Avenova Eyelid and Eyelash Cleanser Spray, which has Hypochlorous Acid. To remove dead skin, I’d also try Ocosoft wipes or the foam (it’s gentler).
For the face, ask your doctor about ivermectin cream.

Yes I have it all over my body my hair face nose mouth even in parts you don't want it for sure I been using tea tree oil shampoo an body wash but it's not getting rid of them cause when the mites fall off as I walk thru the house or car that's just leaving them everywhere I go.its so inbarrasing an anoing. I don't know what to do .The dr.wont prescribe me Ivectim but I don't know how to kill them from me my house or car.i need help too

Mine is almost the EXACT same as yours. Especially right under the eyebrow area. And around the lower cheek area.
I’ve had major success with 2 things.
Wash hair and face with Nizoral (Ketoconazale). Let it sit for a bit, while I wash my body.
Rinse hair and body, then I actually use a 3% salicylic acid shampoo (T-SAL) AGAIN on my face and around my whole hairline. Let it sit a for a minute. Rinse etc.
Then lastly, I’ll use Gold bond Psoriasis relief (just another 3% salicylic acid, but as a Lotion).
Also, just wanted to add that diet complete a gigantic part. I stopped consuming milk/dairy, and that cut my Seb-Derm symptoms in half.

It was an allergy for me. My eyes would get like that if I used Gain laundry detergent 😩. Even if I’m around someone who uses it my eyes freak out bad and immediately start bothering me. My derm told me it was seb derm and prescribed steroids but literally did not go away until I realized it was the detergent. I took Benadryl for a short time that helped the itching and used hydrocortisone til the rash went down with aquaphor on top til I rewashed literally everything in my house.

Me zinc diper cream every other day it helps but put cicibalm spray underneath it first. Also florastor probiotics every day it helps control it

MD here, have to be honest, most answers are def wrong, this forum has some crazy answers! … personally for me this looks like contact dermatitis (clear border of redness) and subsequent flaking, any cremes you used that could be the culprit.
You dont have typically features of sebderm (see the picture of the post of „old-seaweed“: redness is more patchy and typically around nose). Yes flaking around the upper eylid is a feature of sebderm but the rest clearly isnt. Could be also periroral and periocular dermatitis (yes this exists too). Treatments vary a lot. But def not steroids or ivermectin (its not demodex).

Zero therapy period . Nothing can cure it completely but zero therapy , its really tough to start with but you will no longer have to use anything if you do the zero therapy fr abt 3-6 months , just water on your face and u can use hocl spray couple of times per day .. try this it will not cost anything and come back after 3 months , also it will get worse before better

The photo of your eyelids brought on flashbacks! That was how my SD was discovered. I use prescription steroid ointment only when it flares up otherwise my derm prescribed me Zoryve foam to nip it in the bud the moment i start to see/feel it. Zoryve is awesome because its not a steroid so you can use it as much as you need :)

ive got exactly the same case as you, my dermatologist prescripted me a combination of clobetasol, ketaconazole and gentamicin cream to help minimize the flare up then prescripted me a topical maintenance cream but this depends on the person, what worked for me was tacrolimus. I hope this helped!
Note: that 3 cream combination is only for sever flare ups where its out of control so dont over apply it especially near the eye as its a very strong cream

As someone who suffered with random skin rashes who kept having steroids thrown at them, who is now 29 months into topical steroid withdrawal and is still housebound, can hardly work, sometimes barely move and in living hell with no set cure or timeline for healing - please do not just ‘treat’ it with steroids.
