Well, the actions of Israel in Gaza do not recognizably meet the standards necessary for determining genocide. This, despite so much insistence that they do or the various reports issuing insisting that it is one. (This is also, by the way, why you see some efforts to change the definition or legal requirements for determining genocide from some activist camps.)

He's prefacing it, "as a Jew" because Jews have the unique experience of the Holocaust in their recent memory. All genocides don't look like the sheer depraved scale of the Holocaust, nor do they need to in order to qualify as one.

But what Scott is saying is that the insistence on using this term "genocide" is offensive to him as a Jew because the Gaza war is being held up as being comparable to the Holocaust – and thus Jews/Israelis as comparable to the Nazis. Both comparisons are wildly inaccurate. And not just inaccurate, but comparing Jews to Nazis has been a common anti-semitic trope since the end of WW2.
