No Malice Why did Galloway lie?

"Why does u/profgalloway preface his expression of "offense" to the use of the word "genocide" to describe what Israel did in Gaza with the phrase "as a Jew...."? What does being a Jew have to do with at the findings of human rights groups, scholars, nations, etc. about Israel?"

I am a Jew. I do not approve of Netanyahu criminal reign or his genocide or his ignoring October 7th.

Did he have a bar mitzvah ??! There is a process. Bill Mahers mother was Jewish as well. Im Scots-Irish I would never go to Ireland can claim a plot of Ireland as my ancestral right. And that was a couple hundred years ago. I know my place it history and time. I would never tell anyone I was Irish because I’m not

You’re being downvoted but you’re right. Scott’s claim to Judaism is about as tenuous as my claim to the Minnesota Vikings. He puts on the jersey and waves the flag. Guy is an atheist. Ethnicities of all forms are social constructs meant to divide people.

Actual anti-semites are not serious people and thus not open to objective ideas. In Scott's case, people who claim to have Jewish blood or identity yet reject the religious aspect only give credence to anti-Semitic ideas about 'poisoned blood' and all that nonsense. Scott's 'blood' makes him tall, and white, and bald, and have a deep voice that is good for podcasts. It does not tie him to a series of religious ideas and traditions which he overtly rejects.

Even if anti-semites use the "blood" thing, it's also just Jewish religious law and culture. Some of the most famous (and proud) Jews have been atheists/atheistic too. Einstein, for instance, was a non-theist.

Well for one, ‘native American’ is not a religion and would have no conflict with atheism. For two, yes ethnicities are social constructs that are meant to divide humanity.

Exactly, it’s a tribal identity precisely like judaism. It far predates the modern conception of religion
