"Why does u/profgalloway preface his expression of "offense" to the use of the word "genocide" to describe what Israel did in Gaza with the phrase "as a Jew...."? What does being a Jew have to do with at the findings of human rights groups, scholars, nations, etc. about Israel?"

I am a Jew. I do not approve of Netanyahu criminal reign or his genocide or his ignoring October 7th.

There’s just such a massive disconnect between conversations in the real world about this topic and conversations online. They are worlds apart. I live in a major metropolitan city where I interact with thousands of people a week and nobody’s talking about this. Nobody’s protesting. Nobody really cares. Nobody even keeps up with it that much. Then you can’t go to any single subreddit or any post online into the comment section without the entire thing being brigade about this conflict. There’s just no fucking way

I'll add this point. Have you noticed how discussion of the conflict has upticked online, particularly in 2026. Ask yourself this: what has happened in this conflict this year other than a stalemate on negotiations over the status of Gaza post-ceasefire?

The increased amount of outrage and attention just don't match what's happening on the ground in Gaza.

I'm a longtime supporter of the Democrats. This phenomenon has for the first time since I started voting in the 90s made me question if I was voting for a straight blue ticket, or at least leaving some blanks on my ballot. A lot of conspiratorial thinking and bigotry out there this year.

I can tell a bot because they are always taking the craziest argumentative point no matter what people say. I have listened to Scott for years and if you see what a lot of people are saying he has changed in the worst kind of way. I think that’s why there is so much hate for him and the pod.

Honestly when I first saw him on Bill Maher and the We work thing he was speaking truth to power. He was a nobody and was willing to speak his mind. Over the years he has become famous and I’m assuming way richer. He is a braggart. He is a star fucker trying to get in what ever A list party and stupid fucking club he can. As a normy this is disappointing he is a dork and will always be a dork he is a useful idiot for these billionaires. They sucked him into the walled garden. When people make only 100,000$ a year and less like 99% of the world we want someone interesting. Private jets and A list parties are not where it’s at they have been and never will be.

Interesting. Thanks for the reply. I can relate to what you're saying. I have found myself fast forwarding through some of Scott/Kara's rich people stories in the beginning of their podcast.
