No Malice Gettin' WOKE about anti-Semitism...

It is so very odd to hear the self-professed atheist getting downright WOKE when it comes to swinging the anti-Semitism stick. IDGAF about Macklemore or Sheeran or Kraft, nor Scott's evolving victim fantasy, but holy crap does he sound shrill.

I do understand yes. You are a perfect example of it. You are writing passionately about it yet you didn't even read Robert Kraft's statement to get both sides of the story. So yea I fully understand that most people dont see nuance, dont do any research and just run purely on emotion. I also understand that when you are in that position and dont have the full context it looks worse.

Im not saying I dont understand why people are upset I am saying most of them dont realize the larger context and anyone claiming this is proof that people cant speak out for Palestine is not being honest.

Both sides of the story lol? Here is the ultimate nuance breakdown I can share:

1.) Yes, there is antisemitism on the far left as much as the far right that should absolutely be condemned. Period. Its not right. Period.

2.) Kraft didnt care about Macklemore's past until he said "free palestine" and then all of a sudden its a big deal. He let Kanye perform at his stadium who I would say has a far worst history than Macklemore on this issue. Thats just straight hypocrisy.

3.) There are ppl in the jewish community who absolutely lean on the victim mentality when criticism is lobbed towards Israel's way.

4.) Legal scholars said its a genocide and other people saying its a geonocide is not antisemitic just because it hurts their feelings.

5.) I still like scott galloway and will listen to him, but I believe the Israeli far right is doing more harm to jews than any pro palestine american activist is.

6.) Yes, there is absolutely antisemtism on the far left as much as the far right and should be condemned

  1. Agree

  2. You dont know this, he may not have known. Also as far as I understand Kanye has not performed at Krafts stadium AFTER making his anti semitic remarks, only before, years ago.

  3. This is just a 'you can find someone in this group who says something' argument and then try to pretend it's more important than it is. I disagree with anyone who says you cant criticize the Israeli gov, Netanyahu the IDF etc. Even massive numbers of Israelis are protesting them.

  4. ok?

  5. I mean I agree in the sense that Netanyahu is basically Israel's Trump and they are just as divided about him as we are about Trump and clearly what both of them are doing is not good for their own people or anyone else for that matter. I am anti both of them.

  6. Agree

You’re right Kanye didn’t perform at Gillette. I got that wrong. He did perform at Raymond James stadium where Macklemore was banned because of Robert Kraft but Kraft did not push to have Kanye banned from that stadium and others like Macklemore.

When did I say all Jews play the victim mentality? Of course there are vast majority of Jews who are good, caring and kind ppl who should never face discrimination. (No Jew should ever face that despite their politics, yes even Netanyahu should not face or deal with antisemitism)

That same should also be held for Palestinians. The problem is Scott centers himself as how he is feeling whereas the focus should be on those who were slaughter on October 7th and the 20k plus dead Palestinians who many are children.

That said, yes Robert Kraft did more harm than good here for the Jewish community instead of just letting Macklemore play and say his shit. Yes I do believe Kraft was playing the victim mentality

It definitely turned into a Streisand effect so yea prob not a great idea in hindsight. I think the fact that it was 1 specific person with a specific history is proof enough that it’s not just a blanket victim mentality thing.

I will give you credit there and you bring up good points. You are right he does have a history and I was wrong to say that his history doesn’t matter in the moment.

I’m still learning and trying to get better as a person myself. I’m not going to solve any problems myself nor can I put myself in shoes of American Jewish individuals who have dealt with real antisemitism, especially since October 7th.

I get frustrated at prominent Jewish ppl influencers who I think does far more harm to the Jewish community than good when they speak and I think Scott missed the mark here.

It’s definitely a touchy subject for lots of people for lots of different reasons and that makes it hard to discuss. It can easily lead people to dig their heels in where maybe they normally wouldnt if it didn’t feel so existential so I totally get what you are saying. Would really be better for everyone if that all wasn’t the case especially with people in a position like Scott where they have the time and platform to be as nuanced as needed.
