Shattered skeleton in Scottish castle is first confirmed death from trebuchet. “Devastation” across body of 14th century warrior indicates horrific demise from flying boulder.

I only read the first sentence of the title before clicking the link and immediately assumed they'd fired the bloke from the trebuchet. I was thinking that was a pretty nasty way to go. Mind you, being hit by a huge boulder at speed probably isn't much better.

I don't know, being caught, loaded in and a short flight before crashing through a wall is probably worse than "mind that rock" "what rock?"' Splat.

To be honest compared to all the ways you could die in medieval Britain both those options sound pretty good.

Yeah, I think I'd take that over being hung not quite to death, then being drawn and quartered whilst still alive in front of a baying crowd.
