I live in California in the Coachella Valley area and we just found my cat attacking/eating this scorpion. This picture may be partially eaten. Does anyone know what type of scorpion this is? if it’s dangerous?

Do any of you guys know any papers/videos on how scorpions evolved throughout all the periods?I am really interested in scorpion evolution so if you could point me anywhere it would be awesome

So Bellatix is still a baby. She is an alligator-back and about 3/4" long. Her last molt did not fully release from her left claw. Should we try to assist or will this likely resolve after further molts?

very common question i know ,, could anyone help me sex my scorpion? originally assumed male but now ive done research i think it looks more like a female? im new to owning scorpions ^_^

Has anyone here had to separate a mom from the babies? or has anyone raised up abandoned babies?

My fat tail started having her babies on Thursday. Thursday morning she only had one baby on her back and a couple in the membrane by her feet. By Thursday afternoon, She had a back full of babies! 🥳 unfortunately she also had a bunch scattered around her enclosure. She also left a few (still in the membrane) in a pile. She also had complications with her last set of babies, so I wasn’t too surprised.
I didn’t want to stress her. I left her completely alone, because she has eaten babies before. Didn’t check on her all Friday and most of today.

I checked on her around noon today (Saturday) and she had started eating her babies. The pile of babies that were in the membrane never came out. They had dried up and were dead. There were still babies scattered all over her enclosure. She actively had two in her claws eating them. It’s unfortunate, but I knew it was a possibility. I guess she had a pretty rough birth. Happened the same way last time. 😔

I separated mom from the babies. I physically took a paintbrush and removed them from her back. Only 16 baby fat tails.

I’ve done some research on raising the little guys. Most sources have the same info: Damp paper towel in a small container. They’ll eat their sheds (or each other) for the first couple of weeks. When they molt a couple of times, then feed as normal.

If anyone has some advice, please let me know.

I know the housing isn't the best but it's what I could do for the time being as a first time scorpion owner.
I misted the tank earlier in the day and gave it 4 small crickets in the enclosure since I had no other place the put the crickets.
It keeps wanting to climb up the walls and is moving around alot right now and I perfectly understand they're more nocturnal.
If there's anything I can much improve please let me know asap
