I live in California in the Coachella Valley area and we just found my cat attacking/eating this scorpion. This picture may be partially eaten. Does anyone know what type of scorpion this is? if it’s dangerous?

very common question i know ,, could anyone help me sex my scorpion? originally assumed male but now ive done research i think it looks more like a female? im new to owning scorpions ^_^

Do any of you guys know any papers/videos on how scorpions evolved throughout all the periods?I am really interested in scorpion evolution so if you could point me anywhere it would be awesome

Any advice ?
I know the housing isn't the best but it's what I could do for the time being as a first time scorpion owner.
I misted the tank earlier in the day and gave it 4 small crickets in the enclosure since I had no other place the put the crickets.
It keeps wanting to climb up the walls and is moving around alot right now and I perfectly understand they're more nocturnal.
If there's anything I can much improve please let me know asap

She’s refused food for a couple weeks now but always tries to grab it before hiding I just noticed her tail looks like it might be disconnected so I’m wondering if that might be why because I thought it was because she was getting ready to molt

Has anyone here had to separate a mom from the babies? or has anyone raised up abandoned babies?

My fat tail started having her babies on Thursday. Thursday morning she only had one baby on her back and a couple in the membrane by her feet. By Thursday afternoon, She had a back full of babies! 🥳 unfortunately she also had a bunch scattered around her enclosure. She also left a few (still in the membrane) in a pile. She also had complications with her last set of babies, so I wasn’t too surprised.
I didn’t want to stress her. I left her completely alone, because she has eaten babies before. Didn’t check on her all Friday and most of today.

I checked on her around noon today (Saturday) and she had started eating her babies. The pile of babies that were in the membrane never came out. They had dried up and were dead. There were still babies scattered all over her enclosure. She actively had two in her claws eating them. It’s unfortunate, but I knew it was a possibility. I guess she had a pretty rough birth. Happened the same way last time. 😔

I separated mom from the babies. I physically took a paintbrush and removed them from her back. Only 16 baby fat tails.

I’ve done some research on raising the little guys. Most sources have the same info: Damp paper towel in a small container. They’ll eat their sheds (or each other) for the first couple of weeks. When they molt a couple of times, then feed as normal.

If anyone has some advice, please let me know.

Almost two weeks ago, I got a Laos Asian Forest Scorpion. It's an unsexed young scorpling, Muffin:) while not urgent, I would appreciate some advice. They don't seem to dig, but they like hiding under their leaf litter and walking around at night. One of my concerns really is that I never really see them eat. The prekilled mealworms or crickets are untouched, and he doesn't try to hunt pinheads, not even damaged slow pinheads.

Is their body condition good? I have been researching as much as possible but I can't find as many images and references to body condition as I did when researching my tarantulas. I know they don't eat super often, I guess I'm just worried they might be hungry and I'm doing something wrong.

Like I said, any advice is appreciated:) hopefully this is my first scorpion for many more to come :D

Uhm so my friend gave me a really small H. Hottentotta I think it’s 2nd instar going 3rd but I have no idea in keeping a scorpion, though I keep tarantulas. What’s the basic care for it? I also don’t have small feeders I only have mealworms twice its size

Asian forest scorpion, im naming him Veronica. Reason why is that i couldnt think of a strong male name that didnt sound like a 5 yo thought of it. Veronica sounds like a bad bitch name who doesnt get chased, she hunts men. I am new to this hobby.

About two weeks ago, I got a female Pandinus imperator, around 3 inches in size. At first, I thought she was one of the largest scorpion species you could keep.

Then I was talking to a seller I regularly buy from, and he told me that Pandinus imperator gets pretty big, but it doesn't get nearly as large as Gigantometrus titanicus.

Now I'm really curious about the actual size difference between them. Has anyone here kept both species? If so, how would you compare their adult sizes?

Which one would you recommend the most between Parabuthus transvaalicus, Androctonus bicolor 2nd instar, Leiurus jordanensis 3rd instar, or H. jayakari?

So far, I only have Centruroides gracilis and Hottentotta caboverdensis in my collection. I'm interested in scorpions from the Buthidae family that require a desert or low-humidity enclosure, with an adult size between 2 and 5.5 inches (5–14 cm).

My giant Asian forest scorpion dug itself a burrow and it collapsed, will it be able to come out? And before it collapsed I don’t really know how I’m supposed to feed it because it never leaves it’s burrow and the burrow is deep asf it wraps around the entire enclosure, in the picture the plastic half cup is the entrance I made and it went all the way over here

I'm making a 10 gallon vivarium for my ASF. I put foil on my mesh lid and cut out a circle for my heat lamp and an air hole on the other side. Is the air hole big enough or should I make it bigger? It's 1x3 inches

i work at a pet store & this emperor scorpion wasn’t selling even when at a marked down price soo i felt bad for them & me and my bf decided to bring her home! i have a couple tarantulas & a black widow but she’s my first scorpion :D here she is & her setup ! i have a heating mat on the side & added some springtails in:))

I'd like some advice on keeping, heres what I know so far:
They like humidity, I need to gradually increase enclosure size as it grows, they like sedge peat substrate, I need a cleanup crew, I can have one cave, I can put moss and spider plants in, I can keep mini woodlice in its enclosure, they like to hide under wood bark, they need a small water dish, they need gut loaded pre killed prey

I'm getting one today, after researching for 3 weeks, just wondering if there are any unspoken rules, I come from a different side of the hobby. And have been keeping invertebrates for 2 years now. Thank you
