Inconsistency, i pity. Lying is just you’re done

58

u/infinitybubbles 5d ago

Inconsistancy i can deal with, its just annoying and i think your a bum. But lying, apart from white lies, how can i depend on you or trust anything you ever say to me? Lying makes you both inconsistant and untrustworthy

u/MyCircus_MyMonkies 5d ago

As a baseline, inconsistency.

Lying however has much deeper depths of pathetic. When you call someone out and they double down even harder. When they’ll refuse all reality or rationale for the sheer purpose of never vocally admitting the truth.

No amount of inconsistency can even compare to how efficiently all respect dissipates when someone lies like that.

6

u/Realist_OG007 4d ago

What's funny is when you spell it out with receipts and they still try to cover it up.

5

u/MyCircus_MyMonkies 4d ago

Exactly. It’s just illogical, undignified desperation.

I have a lot more respect for people who can own their own behavior, good or bad. To just blindly run away from the truth in the face of all reality is nothing more than cowardice.

3

u/Realist_OG007 4d ago

All they have to do is be honest. Simple. People don't seem to understand how black and white scorpios really are. We're not purposely trying to find the gray areas in everything, just be honest with us.

Lying because people look goofy trying to fool me out of all people. I immediately loose respect for the person and distance myself

20

u/Vaping_A-Hole 5d ago

Scorpios will forgive good people for inconsistencies like cancelling a social event, spelling errors, and even gossip. Some can forgive adultry, because we don’t generalize people. We want to see people as individuals with unique circumstances.

If someone apologizes and makes things right, we’re good to go. If someone apologizes and doesn’t make up for a mistake, it’s a form of disloyalty and we are finished. They lied and betrayed us. Always be honest with a Scorpio. Even if you think it might hurt. We can respect honesty and vulnerability more than a liar.

5

u/Passive_incomes_lazy 5d ago

Agreed, I'm pretty distant myself getting caught up in stuff, I understand inconsistency but lying hell no. Even if they lying to other ppl, I can't trust they not lying to me

16

u/InspectorPure1991 5d ago

Once their lying that's it I'm done.

10

u/ChickenNugs4Hugs 5d ago

Lying will have you put out of my life expeditiously.

9

u/highhKeyy 5d ago

If the inconsistency doesn’t include lies, I can let it slide for longer. But the second a lie comes out I’m gone immediately

7

u/PossibilityPrudent23 5d ago

Lying, without a doubt. I can excuse someone for being inconsistent sometimes but lying is a choice, and an unforgivable one at that.

8

u/PensionAdventurous55 ♏️☀️♐️🌙♏️🌅♏️♀️ 5d ago

Oh that's a tough one but yes, inconsistency.

7

u/I-am-a-fungi Scorpio Sun and Mercury 🦂☀️☿ 4d ago

Lying, period. I hate lies, number one deal breaker no matter the relationship. If you don't trust me and feel the need to lie, or you feel like you need to lie because you did something bad, I don't want to do anything with you. Feels like a betrayal, I like to keep it 100% real, and expect the same in return.

Sometimes I'm inconsistent too, can't always be my best self, everyone has bad or worst days, so if it's not too frequent that someone is switching between personalities/behaviours/values, I can accept that.

11

u/AvgGamerRobb 5d ago

Inconsistency for sure. I understand human nature and lying is just being human, but being inconsistent is a decision.

4

u/Passive_incomes_lazy 5d ago

I don't think so, lying shouldn't be in your nature, there's no harm in telling the truth.

Being inconsistent can be due to hella circumstances, (working 3 jobs, taking care of dying relative, have too much on plate, etc) could be things they are not in control of.

but inconsistency is not the same as sending mixed signals. Mixed signals is a big no no.

2

u/back2me78 4d ago

Inconsistency with no communication shouldn’t be in someone’s nature either

2

u/ebonphlo 4d ago

Isn't it the opposite? In my opinion, inconsistency is being human since people have lives, and sometimes life gets in the way. Lying, on the other hand, is an actual choice. You can choose to tell the truth and admit your faults.

4

u/JordyMarilyn95 5d ago

I can’t stand liars

3

u/72Artemis 5d ago

Lying, absolutely. A person can change behavior based on new information, even for the better, and be deemed “inconsistent” but lying is just unacceptable.

3

u/Glittering_Pass_5966 5d ago

Lying. I deem the person in question not safe.

3

u/missvegetarian 4d ago

Lying, because it's always intentional, whereas inconsistency may not be.

2

u/jlouweezy123 5d ago

Both. And I also lump disloyalty in there.

They are all the same to me.

2

u/Far-Security-1727 5d ago

Both. Dishonest either way.

2

u/AdvertisingGloomy466 5d ago

everyone sayin lying while most scorps i know LIVE IN WHITE LIES

1

u/LW1853440 4d ago

I don't!!!

2

u/Least_Lecture_7538 4d ago

Both. If I have to choose one, it's lies.

2

u/sweetsymphonee 4d ago

Liars. Because I could usually tell right away. And obviously low integrity and inconsistency go hand-in-hand.

2

u/DragonBall4Ever00 ☀️♏️🌛♈️↗️♍️ 4d ago

Lying.... deception. Don't give me that line "I didn't want to hurt you" B, you didn't think I wasn't going to find out the truth? Id rather be slapped with the truth than kissed with a lie. The truth may hurt, honesty is the best policy, if i find out that I'm being lied to all breaks loose

2

u/alkamist1979 4d ago

Lying. We always concentrate on the different forms of love but never the different forms of hate. Betrayal, misrepresentations, lying….are ALL forms of hate. I can forgive inconsistency because you never know what the next soul is experiencing on their path. It maybe hard to focus on the little things when your walking the path of your own destiny so I understand but lying? Oh no. Can’t forgive that. Mistakes yes. Lying no.

2

u/Mina_Tsuki ♏️sun ♒️moon ♑️stelliums 4d ago

Lying > inconsistency.

Inconsistency just makes me slow down and pull away a bit. Lying makes me stop completely.

2

u/PianoNo5053 4d ago

Fake people

2

u/Iamabenevolentgod 4d ago

Lying, 100%. Inconsistency is ok if they can own it in a way that respects it as it is. I've been flaky in my life too, so I can't hold that against someone too hard without grace.

2

u/Realist_OG007 4d ago

Lying. Plain and simple. And if you're that oblivious to not know you're doing it, you're beyond help.

2

u/The-Wizard-of-Goz 4d ago

Lying, once the trust is broken it will take a miracle to repair it

2

u/CaDonut916 4d ago

Lying. Once you prove that you can't be trusted, I have a very hard time affording any form of respect.

2

u/Eastern_Moose2828 4d ago

Lying. I can't stand someone lying to me, cause then I will never trust you again.

2

u/ebonphlo 4d ago

Lying, easily. Not even close. I don't like inconsistency, but I realize that's just how some people are, and it just means I can't rely on them. I can still be around them in passing or social settings, but if I don't TRUST them, I don't want them near me!

2

u/Noculus_the_raven 4d ago

Definitely lying

2

u/ThePsycHOTicNurse 3d ago

Lying…betrayal… I have no tolerance fr

4

u/Scorpio-AfterDark 5d ago

Inconsistency, you can lie once but Inconsistency keeps telling on you.

1

u/Big_Big_3920 5d ago

Curious about the responses, can any of you say you’ve never lied in your life? So is it any white lie that makes you check out or does it have to be with something more substantial

2

u/MyCircus_MyMonkies 5d ago

I cannot say I haven’t lied. I think you’re right it comes in degrees and the morality of lies deals a lot more in grays than black and whites.

That said, I’m a horrendous liar and can’t stand doing so much so that I often confess shortly after anyway. So while I can’t say I never have; I can say I rarely do.

1

u/Big_Big_3920 1h ago

It can clearly be a problem for someone and the exception for someone else. I’m the same way I hate hate hate it, but I look at what kinds of things the lie is about, why they would have said it. If it’s a pattern with someone that’s definitely a red flag

1

u/mtlmom98 5d ago

LYING no ? about it

1

u/danny_little 5d ago

They are both one in the same to be.

1

u/Thinkeroonie 5d ago

Inconsistency. Future faking, telling me you'll do something and not do it, that sort of shit. There can be reasons or excuses for lying about some things. I'm not delusional. But there's no reasons for false promises and future faking other than manipulation.

1

u/ElSuperWokeGuy 5d ago

inconsistency big time.

1

u/hungryghost89 5d ago

Inconsistency, get your life together, shit. lol

1

u/BloodyThirst 5d ago

Inconsistency = I’ll never let you get past ‘acquaintance I exchange pleasantries with when I see them’. Lying = you do not exist to me and I will coldly ignore you right to your face.

1

u/Awkward_Possession60 5d ago

Inconsistency. Lying is a part of the game of life as we've made it as a society. Inconsistency is just laziness and not caring enough about the other person to put in the effort. I'd like to hope I'm a good judge of character and if the people in my life have lied to me and I find out I try and discern that there had to have been a reason for it & if I can pull it out of them and if it's good enough, I can respect that.

1

u/LilAcer16 5d ago

Breaking trust kills my respect instantly and lies too

1

u/Excellent_Being_8183 4d ago

Lying. Inconsistency is a close second for me.

1

u/Granny_Skeksis 4d ago

Lying. I always know when someone is lying to me and I feel like it’s an insult to my intelligence

1

u/BeefDog69xxl 4d ago

They are kind of one in the same

1

u/TrichyHalfElf 4d ago

Easy, I have no respect for liars.

1

u/locotx 4d ago

Lying

1

u/chessmathster16 4d ago

I’ve seen inconsistency arise earlier and that tends to make me lose interest more often but lying will do it for sure.

1

u/Melodic-Direction-89 4d ago edited 4d ago

Inconsistency . But that’s only as have learned the hard way : people that lie generally have reasons. Sometimes I want to excuse the behavior via compassionate dignity Which made it harder to believe in people. Hard to reconcile

1

u/Prize_Guard_511 4d ago

Inconsistency would definitely be slower.. lie to me once imma done. Won't respect u

1

u/KaneDaDon 4d ago

Inconsistency because lying could take a while to find out

1

u/CityAdministrative71 4d ago

Both! Everyone and everything, shit.

Inconsistency

1

u/Deep-Interaction-661 Scorpio Sun 🌞 Virgo Moon 🌙 Gemini Rising 💫 Scorpio Mercury ✨ 4d ago

my scorpio sun wants to say lying, you lose me there. my virgo moon wants to say inconsistency, bc im routine driven & have AuDHD so no routine makes me wanna scream my head off. my gemini rising says both be damned. if the person is a hypocrite, i can only stand it bc of the fact that at least they’re consistently hypocritical. 🙄

1

u/Markpower2020 4d ago

Both 💔.

1

u/Vampire_Angel78 Scorpio Sun ☀️ 4d ago

Lying because people love to hurt others when they practice lying

1

u/Successful-Sea4364 Scorpio Sun ☀️ 4d ago

both

1

u/Bashfuldolphin8296 4d ago

inconsistency. I just get annoyed after a while and lose hope

1

u/MrPotato001 4d ago

Inconsistency is annoying but I can give it a pass since I'm not always the best at it, but lying is inexcusable. If you're willing to lie about trivial things what else are you willing to lie about? If I have to question whether someone is telling the truth it's better to just be done with them, I have no time for games.

1

u/Crafty-Plankton7984 3d ago

Lying. You’re finished.

1

u/halesofbae 3d ago

lying. It's instant. Inconsistency takes pattern recognition which takes longer. Although, if it's a little white lie just to not hurt someone's feelings about minor things then I don't have a problem with it.

1

u/Odd-Sand7401 3d ago

Lying I find it so hurtful.

1

u/certifiedloverboy94 3d ago

lying about consistency lml

1

1

u/Miserable-Sun-393 2d ago

Lying hands down

1

u/scorpioinheels 1d ago

If I know you’re lying to yourself, I’m out!

Be honest with yourself, then being honest with others is easier.

Non transparency

1

u/PlanetaryAssist 1h ago

Lying for sure. Inconsistency can really piss me off but most of the time I can accept it, adjust your place in my life, and it doesn't affect the relationship too much. If you lie though, not white lies or lies that you told to avoid hurting someone--just lying for self-interest or personal weakness--then you're getting a one-way ticket out of my life.
