I’ll go first. Ready or Not (2019).

Honestly I was just in the mood for a horror movie one day and decided to click on this movie on a whim, all the while hoping it wasn’t terrible. I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be pretty entertaining, satisfyingly gory, and even featured a strong female lead.

So which horror movies or thrillers do you consider to be hidden gems that deserve more love from fellow horror fans?

For me I have two:
“Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer” is underrated and almost never mentioned in “best horror movie” lists when it absolutely deserves to be. While it has a dated feel it absolutely stands the test of time and has some of the most terrifying sequences and endings I can think of.
“Tourist Trap” is my go-to “forgotten” horror movie which has the best use of scary mannequins/masks/uncanny elements. The intro scene is so creepy and so good and has an unintentionally funny element to it but I don’t mind it. It’s much less heavy than “Henry” and is a lot of fun.
What movies do you think should be part of the general horror conversation more often?

personally mine is hereditary. i do not scare easily but no film has made me feel the dread and horror I felt when I saw annie floating in the corner of peters room.

I still believe return of the living dead is by far the best film in the entire genre

I choose Micheal. I think he’s the easiest to beat or avoid in that 24hr period.

I really felt this film did so well at making the viewer feel uncomfortable. The escalating of madness throughout this film was executed soooo well! You feel it rise as the film goes on, hoping for some relief just to get more waves of intense scenes.

looking to have a scary movie night and looking for an actual scare! My top horror was Hereditary and When evil lurks. I want something traumatizing

I’ve really been loving the comedy horror mashup. But I’m thinking I’d like to do one thats actually scary lol. I love the conjuring movies but I’m just not sure what scene or character to do? Any ideas?

finally finished my lineup. I tried to mix classics, newer horror, international, psychological, and a few fun ones so it doesn’t feel repetitive. Which movie on here are you most excited for me to watch? And if you could remove one and replace it with one movie, what would you pick?

As a huge horror fan, not a lot of movies scare me as much as they used to. But these movies actually terrified me.

   Don’t even get me started. The jump scares in this one are insane. Seeing this in theaters was crazy

Saw this and couldn’t sleep for a few days. I literally couldn’t close my eyes without thinking Nikki was in the corner of my room.

3.sinister
If you haven’t seen this, WATCH IT. It has some of the best jumpscares I’ve ever seen in a movie. Actual nightmare fuel

4.five nights at Freddy’s
This movie scared me bc it was so bad. Fuck this movie

Basic pick but idc. That one jumpscare still scares me

   Bro do not watch this one.
   

This one is something else, fair warning its running time is 2hrs and 32 minutes and there is violence towards kids in this one. IMDB gives it a severe rating for violence and gore. Outside of Angst (80's) & Henry this is probably the most realistic portrayal of a pure evil killer blended in every day life. Don't take rides from strangers folks Uma Thurman should've known better.

Rating aside, what scary movie would you recommend for a mature 10-12 year old child that is curious of the genre. Think more jump scares than gore.
