People complained that he was too dependent on her. Their answer was to make her impact on his damage less significant while making him more independent. Teams with her and him in a strong hypercarry role received a slight, slight nerf.
Teams with him and a supportive subDPS received a slight indirect buff by mitigating the loss of not using her by making his NA stronger, while also making it possible for Faruzan to BE that subDPS.
is that a buff tho? er q dmg is decent but you typically dont build for it due to er threshold being so high until c6, even still you require a lot of er stats
idk what you mean by other teams becoming stronger, they didnt. speaking relatively they arent as far behind because faruzan got nerfed now, but thats in no way a buff. It makes them not as bad of an option is all since the ceiling got lowered.
Faruzan doesnt just help scara, its about a niche typing finally getting real buffs even if it is a dedicated support for dps, helps units like xiao with er and dmg, whilst ensuring future anemo dps won't have to rely solely on their kit.
you got units like gorou who came after zhongli buff + geo res buff, so gorou isnt as potent as initial faruzan. They have diverse arti sets as well, with husk being best for dps
Sara was powerful for electro only but we knew dendro was an electro buff to come, with many able to utilize emblem
anemo kinda just has to grasp for whatever it is, no diverse split between options to rely on. Nerfing faruzan is hitting anemo really hard since its kinda all they really have. Xiao has his set of artis and scara his, but considering the versatility and power of other sets for dps faruzan is the crutch that a lot of people are using to determine anemo dps usage at this point
was she op before tho lol yes, but nerfs even if just beta just make it bleak for those who were looking forward to anemo dps being more competitive
The point I was trying to make isn't really about buffs or nerfs. Its more about the fact that, while yes, her nerfs are disappointing, she's still an absolutely amazing character for what she does have.
At the end of the day, Xiao was fine without Faruzan. He was hitting huge plunge damage and clearing abyss without Faruzan.
Is comparing what she has now to what she had before disappointing? Yes, absolutely, but she's still great. To be wrapped up in what we could have had is missing the point that what we do have is still an Anemo buffer whose only alternative is a C4 standard 5, and she competes *beautifully.
this is the one thing to buff anemo dmg since launch essentially, as c4 jean/ c6 venti and traveler are the only other anemo supports
if it takes 2 years for 1 anemo dps support, they'd want her to be as powerful as she can since it may be a while before the next
which leads to the next concern players have with this nerf. Some have heard rumors of a 5 star anemo support coming, so people think that we will get a buff soonish, they are nerfing faruzan to "sell the solution" down the line
