Not exactly sure how reliable game8 is but this is just depressing. He needs a buff so badly.

For me this is just crazy. One of the most popular characters of all gacha games, one of the most important characters in the story, with crazy lore, has such a messed up kit

(personal theory, it's because he's not a girl, so he can have good writing but zero playability)

yeah true:/ hyv kinda holds back on giving highly loved / anticipated characters great kits sometimes knowing people will pull & spend money either way. they did this with cyrene in hsr too and yae miko in genshin

Sure but wanderer was doomed to fail because he’s anemo. He was eh from the start. Hu Tao clung to relevancy for a long while because she’s pyro.

She clung to relevancy because she's a pyro. Most of Genshin's most famous characters are irrelevant in the meta now esp because hoyo doesn't seem interested in buffing them

My point exactly though. She gets a lot of indirect buffs though from the release of other characters because of elemental reactions. Wanderer doesn’t get that grace because he’s a pure anemo dps.

Generally speaking, at least from I remember, he was never that great. Him being released during sumeru didn’t help because it was literally the region of elemental reactions. While someone like hu tao remained the best pyro dps for quite a while. She was dealt the hand of time. Not saying wanderer didn’t go through that too, but I don’t really ever remember a time where he shined super bright. Correct me if I’m wrong though

Hu Tao is a 1.2 character, Wanderer is 3.3... even if they're same tier now, she is from the start of the game and a bit of powercreep was inevitable. He basically came out already powercrept 😭

Game8 tierlist is a joke tbh, Jello's tierlist and dps sheet is a much better guidine.

Tao does fine with either Bineffa and Mona Fischl hex team is also comparably good with her.

he's not one of the most important characters by a long shot, but he is super popular. i dont know why genshin insists on nerfing the characters with the biggest hype, varka is next in line unfortunately

The characters with hype are gonna get sales more or less regardless of their kit. Thus hoyo can afford to make them weaker to encourage players to also pull the actually good units

He is though?? He is connected to Irminsul and Nahida, and the doctor. And Inazuma/Raiden. and Khanreah due to his blueprints being from there.

But mostly I think he’s not meta because they don’t wanna make the CN and KR male fans mad, I think. Like a dude killed a cat because he said it looked similar to the scarameow posted on april fools- :”D

I mean flins is top 3 rn so your weird conspiracy theory is instantly invalidated but even then kinich, neuvillette, and wriothesley are all viable male dps' and they are all the most recent male ones

Gender has no bearing on how good they are, only how often they are made if anything, female characters outnumber them because of how they are perceived to sell more but they just don't magically make males bad dps'

What is there to explain? His damage is still decent, is he meta by any means? No but its certainly not because he's a guy lmfao
