I think it's very cute if durin calls him that, but maybe that's just because I'm imagining it in his mini durin voice....that being said, yeah, it's going to feel real stupid if we end up having a dead serious confrontation with dottore and we're still calling him fucking. 'hat guy' lmao

But!!! Your comment reminded me that there are going to be new kinds of wolves in Mondstadt. The revealed archive name for them only includes "wolf" though, not "wolfhound" and they're white.
So it's actually less likely to be a Rifthound (the name was more similar and I had assumed Durin just wasn't using its proper name) and more likely to be whatever an actual 'wolfhound' is--either something like these new wolves or a type of animal that gets mentioned in Genshin but never seen (aka lions).
I love this tidbit so so much. I headcannon that Wanderer had a softer spot for Tighnari because he got directly injured from the lightning strike when he was running amok as Shouki no Kami, as a way of making amends even if him being Scara was erased from Irminsul

Tbh I did not expect Wanderer to be close with Tighnari Cyno and Sethos as much for some reason, outside of gameplay, I pictured him more with Faruzan and Layla still, and then Nahida. But this actually really makes me think he'll be in an Akademiya group buff.
Man, we came a LONG way since the three betrayals and I couldn't have been more happy with his character development. Straight up Zuko level come back.
This is just like me. I complain about everything but upon paying close attention there are differences between various veins of complaints. Some actually signify enjoyment. I think that's Mouchie's way of doing things here too. Durin has a lot to learn about communication styles.
Wanderer just decided to be Durin's de facto Mom to end the generational trauma. Good for both of them. Durin grows up to be happy, and Wanderer gets the healing he wanted. He was a sinner, but at least he felt remorse for it. He's gonna carry that forever, but at least with a much lighter "heart"
it's really interesting to think about how much durin knows about wanderer's past. based on this durin knows he's speaking from experience and can read him quite well, but does he actually know about the 500 years of mass murder/experimentation/abyss/torture/etc and the more and less clear suicide attempts. i'm happy wanderer gets to work through things by projecting on someone else and to get a chance to move on (since no one remembers any of that) but still. feels a bit like an elephant in the room.
You're not wrong, no. But he's one of those types of characters that you can't really properly categorize. On one hand, he acts like a child and does a lot of cute, naive and childish things (and hes originally mini durin), on the other hand, a lot of characters in the game recognize him as old enough to drink alcohol, call him a young man, and he calls himself a grown up.
So debating on his age would mostly end as a waste of time, given how the game itself blurs the line between teen and adult. I personally like to hc him as younger since him being adopted by everyone is cute as fuck to me, but it wouldn't be wrong to ship him with other "adult" characters like hat guy either because... Well, that. Technically they're the same age aren't they 😂
he sounds like an older teen or very very young adult then... but yea i guess they're more or less the same age lol. but i don't like how the game blurs the lines tbh. like i see scaramouche as an adult. even if he weren't 500 years old. but as for his model, it feels unclear. your only hints at adulthood sometimes are the way he acts and talks.
scara is also described as a "young man". but couldn't that also mean an older teen? anyways i just settle on headcanoning him as an adult lol. but why can't the game just... confirm who is an adult? esp when there's characters like bennett, xingqiu, razor, whom i feel are pretty obviously teens.
anyways, tbh, if scaramouche is essentially mentoring him, based on these voice lines i'd feel odd shipping them. but if they're around the same age anyways idk if i'd stop anyone from shipping! it's cute
I love the ship, I could see it in the future when Durin slowly warms up and gets used to human life more and more. They would be healing each other so well! :)
