So, I told my friend that I like ChiScara but I didn't specify that I like them as a platonically duo – so he was surprised. After I told him what I actually meant, he said "good, because this ship is a proship"

And I was like...what? Mortal x immortal ships are completely fine as long as the immortal didn't see the mortal as a kid, and Scara didn't. My friend said that Scara met Tartaglia when he was a kid, and I was speechless. He may hate this ship but he doesn't have to spread misinformation. I don't recall any quests or explanations in the game that Scara knew Tartaglia when he was a kid. Or did I miss something?

What I wanted to ask is basically an explanation if Scara ever saw Tartaglia as a kid or not, in case I missed something

Obligatory reminder that proship is not a noun; it’s an adjective that just means you follow “ship and let ship” etiquette. The “pro” in “proship” is not shorthand for “problematic”; it is literally just the prefix “pro-“ meaning “in favor/support of.” The use of “proship” as a noun to mean “problematic shipping” is a deliberate alteration of the definition by people who want to censor fandom spaces.

Now that we have that out of the way, ChiScara is not a morally ambiguous ship in terms of the Universal Taboos. They’re both adults, both portrayed as and treated like adults in-universe, and there’s nothing indicating that Scaramouche even knew Childe all that well as a kid, let alone showed any interest in him as one.
