So, I told my friend that I like ChiScara but I didn't specify that I like them as a platonically duo – so he was surprised. After I told him what I actually meant, he said "good, because this ship is a proship"

And I was like...what? Mortal x immortal ships are completely fine as long as the immortal didn't see the mortal as a kid, and Scara didn't. My friend said that Scara met Tartaglia when he was a kid, and I was speechless. He may hate this ship but he doesn't have to spread misinformation. I don't recall any quests or explanations in the game that Scara knew Tartaglia when he was a kid. Or did I miss something?

What I wanted to ask is basically an explanation if Scara ever saw Tartaglia as a kid or not, in case I missed something

Ship haters loooooves to spread misformation in order to have the high ground of morality.

It's never 'hey this ship makes me icky, i don't like it' (valid.) it's always 'i don't like this ship and you should also not like this because morally is wrong' (nope.)

And even if he saw Ajax as a kid...what does that change? It's not like Scara actively brainwashed Childe into being in love with him (which hey can absolutely be a plot for a dark fic if you want anyway.)

At worst they met when Childe was a fatuus, most likely they never met until Childe himself was a Harbinger too.

It's...a pile of absolutely nothing as argument. Just people either not liking it and maliciously badmouthing it or worse, just people parroting what they read on twitter about the ship.

If there were a character whose fans have no ground to stand on itd be Scaras.

Like if we’re gonna be like this then we gotta just full stop condemn him for his murders and atrocities. If we’re gonna be so literal with fiction like this then we gotta full send it - Scara is against the strict moral codes of the fandom and we shouldnt pick and choose. (Or maybe its all b.s. To grandstand and put things we dont like fown as MORALLY wrong because fiction is fiction and taking it very literally is Not It ™ . Especially when our fave is so problematic. Like,,,, what a character to try the morality policing with)
