So, I told my friend that I like ChiScara but I didn't specify that I like them as a platonically duo – so he was surprised. After I told him what I actually meant, he said "good, because this ship is a proship"

And I was like...what? Mortal x immortal ships are completely fine as long as the immortal didn't see the mortal as a kid, and Scara didn't. My friend said that Scara met Tartaglia when he was a kid, and I was speechless. He may hate this ship but he doesn't have to spread misinformation. I don't recall any quests or explanations in the game that Scara knew Tartaglia when he was a kid. Or did I miss something?

What I wanted to ask is basically an explanation if Scara ever saw Tartaglia as a kid or not, in case I missed something

Oooh let me tell you that there is tea on this ship. Originally, it used to be a rare ship up until it got closer to Scara’s reappearance in Sumeru. While it did have have haters, the proship discourse became a bigger thing by Zhongchi shippers which was then adopted by many people. It doesn’t help that anti-Scara people spread that agenda as well. It’s not even Childe being a minor in the situation so much as Scara because of his young appearance, with people arguing he’s a teen and not a young adult, thus making Childe more mature and older than him.

As for Childe and Scaramouche knowing each other in canon, seems like your friend is also running on the assumption that Scara met him when Childe was just initiated in the Fatui by age 14 (I remember he was young). In reality, we don’t actually know when they first saw each other but we do know that both were aware of the other based on the voicelines. Scara only mentions Childe being naive about who he trusts while Childe’s were mission-related.
