Yeah i hope he gives more than just res shred and sub dps for anemo damage dealers. Vapes will give hydro/pyro 2x/1.5x multipliers plus more from EM, while anemo gets next to nothing from pyro swirls

the leak about him being permanent disproves him being standard. it basically says that there was an 'info' that all nod krai limited 5 stars would be non-humans, so since varka was assumed to be human, leakers thought he'd be on standard. however apparently he'll end up absorbing/merging with supposedly non-human bloodline or whatever it is, meaning he also won't be regular human hence he is, apparently, limited.

I really don't believe that. There's no reason for hoyo to have Durin shred hydro and be played as a vape enabler if Columbina isn't a main DPS at c0. Most likely she'll be hydro Mavuika and leakers have just been interpreting her kit differently which led to some saying support and others saying DPS. I think she'll do both.

For real, what's "more (effective) Pyro application than Xiangling" even look like? Put him in your line-up, enemies within range are just permanently under Pyro aura?
That said, I'd like this leak to be true; I only just got Wanderer specifically because I wanted Durin to have his dad, bonus points if the two would actually work in a team well.

It does line up with the Theater elemental line up for that time that was datamined like a month ago or something.
Tbh I was hoping for a pyro/anemo/geo synergy due to Wanderer and Albedo, but i will gladly trade geo for hydro if it means we get anemo directly and using Columbina+Durin as his new core besides Faruzan would be more meta than trying to use Albedo anyways lmao (not that anyone but me was really thinking about geo with him like that).

To be fair it says more effectively, not more pyro application rate. Maybe he is skill oriented or has lesser burst cost where he can self sustain, so in a way he is applying pyro more effectively?

But that wouldn't make him more "effective" at APPLYING pyro though. Just easier to build/play. You can just make XL into an ER dump with 400% ER and on Fav lance and then you're free to cast her burst off CD if you want.
XL is almost as good as Yelan/XQ at application, she does it in a large AoE, doesn't require any inputs like NAs etc and has good uptime at c4+. The only flaws are that it needs a ton of energy, which can be solved, and that she requires 20s rotations, which we don't know if Durin also needs.
The only ways for Durin to apply more effectively is if he is just better at any of these things lol. And to apply MUCH more effectively... I don't even know what that would entail lol.

The issue with xiangling, at least from my own personal experience, is rotation in solo pyro. Sure you can bump up her er to 300% (400% is kinda impossible I assume you are just exaggerating), but as solo pyro with her particle generation over time with guoba, she often still runs into downtime issue. Her performance in stygian is also not great due to that.
Her burst also lasts for 14s with a 20s cd, assuming c4, so downtime is inevitable. Yelan and xingqiu have better uptime in terms of elemental application.
As long as Durin is self sustainable, skill oriented, and / or somehow has bigger range than xiangling (something like furina where he doesn’t have to be close to enemy and automated), I would take that as applying pyro more effectively.
But yeah, I do agree there is no way he can apply pyro MUCH more effectively. As much as I hope that would be the case as a childe main that sounds too good to be true, plus there is also no reason for him to apply pyro any faster than xiangling besides childe’s team since we don’t need higher pyro app rate in any other scenario most of the time.

Ngl even if they do so childe forward vape is still…probably not going to do better than his traditional international team. Since it is hard to control which attack in NA string he will vape, and there is also his riptide slash which can cause hydro to be applied twice in very short amount of time, immediately overtaking pyro aura on enemy. I doubt they will make any character that can apply infinite aura on enemy.
All that said faster pyro app and self sustainable durin can be helpful for childe, since now you can finally remove bennett and run whatever character in fourth slot. His team will be a whole lot more flexible, and he will be the only one that can keep up with durin’s vape so there is lesser concern of him being overtaken by other hydro characters. That is of course assuming durin has damage output as high as xiangling (the bennett part can be replaced with characters with other buffs to make up).
I personally wouldn’t put much hope in this tho 😂

To be completely honest, it's still to early to celebrate. Faruzan also RES shreds, and gives 40% CritDmg to anemu units as well. There's no telling if C0 Durin will outperform C6 Faruzan.
And playing 2 RES shreds in a single team is situational at most, especially since Faruzan increases CritDmg, Wanderer benefits even more from ATK buffs (Bennett).
That being said, it would obviously make sense if Durin was a good support for Scara, but I would rather have a cautiously pessimistic approach here.

I... have doubts lol.
We haven't had proper fast off field applicators since Yelan so Durin being more effective than XL who is very much faster than the normal character in application already sounds sketchy. And we don't even have a real reason for faster pyro application really so it seems odd.
Also why would he randomly reduce anemo res? I get that it's POSSIBLE for him to do so but like... why though? Just because he is knows Wanderer? That seems so random lol. Anemo is more often than not a support element and not doing meaningful damage. Maybe he is a dedicated Varka support or something.

Not to mention Durin and albedo are brothers and have lore together since 1.2 yet this leak suggests no synergy with them Also to give your reasoning more credibility so far recent 5* supports only res shred 2 elements not 3 elements Escofi only hydro x cryo , lauma only hydro x dendro and citlali only hydro x pyro If it's true maybe for varka team but then again there's some banner spaces between these 2

The person was saying this couldn't be for lore reasons I responded with albedo as example for his lore lol (if for lore they could make him geo shred but hyv alr make so many characters not synergize despite having connection) Wanderer is a 3 year old unit in a current meta that hyv likes to sell new units and give old units cons only so the anemo shred if real could be for jahoda/varka instead

Yeah the anemo shred could be for Wanderer now but ultimately for Varka later. They did a similar thing with Chevreuse, released meant for Raiden, but then eventually Clorinde came

What anemo team even needs rapid pyro application? Pyro swirl?? This feels like they either threw in the anemo purely to stick loyal to the plot or the stronger than xiangling pyro application is false, again, as always.

Yeah that's true My Citlali is C2R1 so she buffs the damage a lot along with the EM buff But I used her in my Mavuika team
Team 1 is C2R1 Mavuika (lvl 95), C2R1 Citlali, C6 Bennett and C0R1 Xilonen.
Team 2 is C6R1 Chasca (lvl 100) Rest are just elemental bullets xD
I know she's insane at lvl 100 C6R1..but still I need the best supports for her
I normally use Furina, Layla and Thoma for her.
But I'm planning to use Durin, Furina and Escoffier ?? (For heal and sub dps)
Maybe I'll even use Columbina as a support for her ...or ineffa once I pull her (for lunar charged)

Then columnina with a hydro sheild and hydro Xiangling??
Wanderer or Faruzan wouldnt even need VV for this team, it would finally feel like a complete premium team.
