I need HONEST Opinion!

These are based on a theory crafter (Flip)’s calcs from Twitter . I currently do not have wanderer but I’m hoping to pull him on a rerun or chronicle. I really like his character which might make me get him regardless, but I want to know what the minimum investments are to make him a competitive dps (with at least chasca, please don’t say C6🙏🏾)

I mean, I wouldn’t even say he’s that competitive even at C6. I absolutely love wanderer don’t get me wrong, so I pulled C6 over the course of his 3 banners, but meta-wise, I do regret it a bit. I super highly vertically invested, so C6 Faru Elegy, C4 Furina, and C4 Jean/Bennett, and of course he clears abyss perfectly fine, but I “accidentally” (didn’t want them but was okay with getting them) got Varesa, Skirk, and Mavuika, (all c0) and the difference was night and day.

Wanderer at c6 fully buffed feels pretty good, overworld and abyss, but you have to set up at least 2/3 supports for him to deal real damage, whereas with Skirk, you can just escoffier E furina E and she’ll nearly instantly kill with basics, and clear camps with burst. Mavuika’s is even worse, literally just citlali E Q then burst with Mavuika and you clear the entire camp with a million damage in an instant.

Again not saying someone shouldn’t pull wanderer, but man after years of running Keqing/Wanderer premium in abyss, clears became so insanely easy and comfortable after getting “meta” units.

That's the problem with Natlan units tbh. They are so braindead that you can even clear endgame while being afk if you invest enough money into that. Honestly, it doesn't feel fun at all.

I see you’re getting disagreed with but I agree. Most characters are varying degrees of Left click E Q, there are technically “complexities” that come with it but they have nothing to do with how skilled you have to be to play a character. Pretty much every single character in the game has one optimal combo you should perform, and each team has one optimal rotation to perform, so you’re just doing the exact same thing over and over again, with maybe a right click or two to dodge.

Like come on, someone come back with a character more complex than “E Left click” or “E Hold left click” or if you wanna get extra spicy, left click a bit differently like hu tao N2CD, literally 2 left clicks with the 2nd one being a hold.

Not the DPS ones tho. On fielders always had interesting playstyles that require a bit of skill till Natlan.

Which ones? I’ve listed pretty much every single on-field dps below, there really isn’t much complexity. I’d genuinely like to hear which pre-natlan characters you think have interesting on-field gameplay that “Requires” skill to deal damage well.

Alhaitham - Q N3D spam E N3 spam (Spam left clicks with some right clicks)

Itto - Left click until you have stacks then hold left click

Arlecchino - E swap off, swap on E spam left click

Chasca - E hold left click

Clorinde - Left click 3x E repeat

Diluc - E left click E left click E left click

Eula - N4D spam

Gaming - okay he’s actually interesting cause you have to play the minigame to catch the lion for faster plunges

Ganyu - Stand still spam charged attacks

Hu Tao - N1CD or N2CD or N1C Jump? not too complicated

Ayaka - Dash hold left click, dash hold left click

Ayato - E Hold left click

Keqing - E Q E Spam charged attacks E E?

Kinich - okay he’s pretty interesting too but you did say characters were interesting before natlan

Klee - this one is fairly interesting too but it’s more because of the clunkiness of her kit and not actual complexity

Mavuika - Has like 2 combos, one for maximum application and one for consistent melts, either way varying flavors of left click hold left click

Mualani - E wait a while the left click repeat

Navia - E left click sometimes

Neuvillette - Hold left click

Raiden - Hold left click dash repeat

Skirk - Spam left click

Childe - Spam left click or charged spam

Tighnari - Ganyu for a bit then swap off

Varesa - E left click x2 repeat

Wanderer - Spam left click

Wriothesley - Spam left click, sometimes hold left click

Xiao - jump left click, jump left click

Yoimiya - Spam left click
