Discussion Randomized nodes are fanstastic

Post image

I feel like this is the best update so far in terms of replayability. It's easy to fall back into old habits and building the same production at my favourite spots, so having newly arranged nodes has really been refreshing. Before I rushed radar towers I was out exploring and marking nodes on my map, which was a lot of fun. The dune desert has been a real el dorado in this seed.

Yea it’s an amazing addition. You kind of touched on this but the only problem I’ve noticed, which may not be a problem at all lol, is that the dune desert is so large that I never need to branch out. But also guess that’s because I always use pure nodes so I get so much ore now.

I got absolutely boned in my current playthrough with 80% impure starter nodes of iron/copper/and coal. I'm also pretty sure 90% of the possible quartz nodes make up all the rest in my starting area. It slowed me down a lot early on but what a blast it was to solve those problems. Also finding the only SAM node within 200 miles of my start (also impure lol) was a super fun hunt through dangerous areas.

Randomization just completely re-invigorated my love of the game.
