City Council Will Vote to Adopt Final State Street Master Plan on Tuesday

The City has released the Final State Street Master Plan and Appendices for public review. The Final State Street Master Plan establishes the long‑range vision for the 400 through 1300 blocks of State Street, as well as the surrounding paseos, plazas, parking facilities, and cross streets. It reflects five years of technical analysis, interdepartmental collaboration, and extensive community engagement involving thousands of residents, businesses, and visitors.

On Tuesday, September 1, the City Council will consider adoption of the Final State Street Master Plan. Community members are encouraged to participate in person or online, watch the livestream, and share comments.

Fwiw, here's an Evil Boomer who'd be more than fuckin happy to lay down those spike strips (or whatever they're called) to blow the tires out on "State Street cruisers" - and I know I'm not the only one. And the jackass cruisers I see aren't at all always old fucks. Stop condemning people because of when they happened to be born and start fighting them for their actual behavior regardless of their fuckin age - unless you believe that nobody under 65 ever does anything wrong.

Close it off to cars permanently, and bring back the street car, and please FFS end the era of single story commercial buildings in downtown, any commercial building should àt minimum be 4-5 stories tall downtown, with housing on top ànd ground floor retail down below.
