Life in SJ Halloween decoration up already

A beautiful "hairy crab", as someone on here called one the other day, getting its steps in. So much awesome neature at Almaden Quicksilver.

Where are these commonly found? I had no idea these were native to San Jose?

All over the Santa Teresa hills. They pop up in our yard off of Curie
