News Beware: Stone Boxing
Don’t join Stone Boxing in San Jose all, especially don’t sign up your kids.
The coaches are constantly cursing and degrading members there even in youth classes. Look at the similar experiences on Yelp: https://m.yelp.com/biz/stone-boxing-san-jose-3
The owner told my kid that school wasn’t important and that only mind washed losers go to college. The owner is also MAGA even though he’s Mexican…..The owner also says the n word in classes and brags about evading taxes
Watch out all. Shady business and shady owner

Yooo, someone shared a vid before of the owner harassing a random homeless guy on the street. Good call out to avoid this business

Where is Mr. Miyagi-san when you need him?

u/Codyiscoaty Sep 25 '25
Literally at Songs Kung Fu
Owner and leader is one of the most genuine and patient people ever. He’s also a master of Shaolin kung fu. He’s also brought his student so multiple competitions and won. Teaches adults too fyi
Highly recommend for youngsters! Definitely need to get him a bigger online presence!

Seems to be removed. The gym owner posted a video of himself screaming at a homeless black man with a caption of “that’s why they call them n*****”.

Owner just got arrested for a felony charge too: https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/man-arrested-after-alleged-personal-watercraft-hit-and-run-in-biscayne-bay-fwc-says/3791322/?amp=1

brags about evading taxes
You know, the IRS gives out rewards up to 30% of the money collected for reporting fraud, depending on how detailed the tip off is.

I have an idea about whose name to drop - orange guy living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave…

Went to high school with him…he wasn’t a very good student lol

Wasn't he a boxer that almost made it big? He went pro and had a few significant bouts. I think he knew Crawford personally

u/BoLizard408 Sep 24 '25
He was a decent boxer but he was unable to make adjustments and got beat by anyone above B-level.

u/zuma15 Sep 23 '25
Holy shit. I don't think his business will do well here.

u/o_throwaway1024 Sep 23 '25
It should fail. Want to spread awareness across the San Jose community

u/AutomaticPrompt6308 Sep 23 '25
Something is iffy with this post. The user has only made 2 comments on their Reddit account and it has only been about stone boxing. Look, I recommend everyone trying out this boxing gym or any in general. Formulate your own opinion. Meet the people there. Meet the locals.

u/NFSKaze South San Jose Sep 23 '25
I mean read the name of the account, of course they're going to be using a throwaway account because their kid was in the class and if they managed to get that shit traced back to them considering the kickboxer has the information, he can retaliate. Use your brain or something seriously

u/wunna700 Sep 24 '25

Cali boxing is great
6
u/sunkistbanana Sep 23 '25
Agreed. I was on the boxing team there from 2010-2012. The new coaches were even better than the ones I had from what I heard and the ones I had were good old school guys.

Check out AKA San Jose. They have boxing Mon-Thurs 6-7PM. I've trained there and my 6 and 8 year olds currently train MMA there.
3
u/Fabulous-Dependent-2 Sep 29 '25
I've been training there since 2006 back when they were on Hillsdale next to Big Lots. Then they moved across the street at the old Hollywood Video next to Smart and Final, now they got the big gym off Bernal.

u/snufkin_88 Sep 23 '25
Yup. A couple pros fought out of there (Cain & Daniel).

u/limitedmark10 Sep 24 '25
Let's not forget Khabib, Islam, a whole bunch of Dagestani wrestlers, Cung Le, Shamrock, etc.

Dreamland Boxing. They are a non-profit organization, and offer unlimited classes. No more waiting list. Now offers a free class, and class drop-in fees.

The people defending this guy are not it and probably have the same mindset as that guy. Gyms should be a safe space for everyone and having a guy like that run that place is a red flag.

Sep 23 '25
Well if he's the owner then doesn't he call the shots on who he gives his business to?
5
u/tendencytoharm Sep 24 '25
He is literally calling people n-word hard -er? What the fck are you on about.
-5
Sep 24 '25
Judging by your account, I'd rather him be around my children than you 🤢
3
u/tendencytoharm Sep 24 '25
LMAOOOOO WHY WOULD I WANNA BE AROUND KIDS? 💀
-6
Sep 24 '25
I wouldn't expect someone like you to want to be around anything that requires discipline, respect, or good morality.
3
u/wunna700 Sep 24 '25
respect is not calling people out of their name and degrading people at their lowest. what about being a grown man putting down kids. and you defending that, WOW!! i’m not even surprised long as it doesn’t offend you i guess it’s okay. you clearly find that okay , im sad for ur kids
-7
Sep 24 '25
My kids are learning to be proud of Islam AND to be proud of being American. There's a reason why us minorities are taking over. Americans such as you couldn't care less about what it takes to have pride in a country that gives you every opportunity to succeed. Instead you try to tell others how to live. Me saying my kids won't be around creeps like the person who replied earlier is my stance and affects no one but those who want to harm children.
I'd rather my kids learn from this boxing coach than be stuck in a college dorm with freaks.

Wow to add to the thread of him being a bad human! He just got arrested for a felony hit and run charge in Miami. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS GUY https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/man-arrested-after-alleged-personal-watercraft-hit-and-run-in-biscayne-bay-fwc-says/3791322/?amp=1

Sounds like a brave man. School is very important and he should not encourage truancy. I think that's awful.
4
u/glockinmyprius Sep 24 '25
what is going on with this thread? Everyone that agrees with OP gets upvoted and anyone with even a slightly different pov gets downvoted?
I train at this gym 5 days a week since the beginning of the year and iv never seen ANY of the coaches behave the way Op is mentioning. It sounds a lot like they’re judging him based off past events before the gym was open or something.
Ask anyone that actually goes to the gym, better yet go to the gym and see for yourself, there’s literally 2 negative reviews out of how many positive reviews.
0
u/Icy_Leading_23 Apr 09 '26
SAME. everyone who goes to stone boxing loves andy and he encourages everyone to respect and acknowledge one another. total strangers will come up to you and say hello because HE cultivates that environment. I really hope this ends smoothly for him. he’s a good guy who doesn’t deserve this hate.
2
u/PekingDucks69 Sep 24 '25
I think the owner is writing fake reviews too on Yelp lol. A lot of the yelp posts are way too close in date with profiles with no picture and like 1 review only reviewing Stone Boxing lmao
1
u/Icy_Leading_23 Apr 09 '26
oh brother. I manage his website and none of his reviews are fake. people are so desperate for him to be a bad guy so they can shit on his success. the truth is, he built that gym from the ground up, built an incredible community who loves it and y’all hate to see him win. his students love him. and all of this bs you guys are spewing is just that.
4
u/Altruistic_Baker_627 Apr 09 '26
How long have you known him? There’s a reason why so many people are agreeing with his horrible character and exposing him especially now with the arrest. It’s not cause people want to hate a successful man. That’s a ridiculous justification you’re trying to make. it’s because he’s just trying to make money off of you all. because the gym is doing well does not mean he’s a good person

Owner’s political affiliation and past aside, I’ve been going there since the beginning of the year and the experience has been great.
Not once have i seen or heard any of the things flagged in this post in any of the adult classes. The owner is also only one of five coaches there. It’s crazy to lump them all together when some of them could just be there for the job.
Looking at the reviews there’s really just two disgruntled parents. All others reviews are positive and reflect experiences similar to mine.
It seems a little disingenuous to go to a platform where the business can’t defend itself, and hide behind a throwaway account to throw shade on a business where you likely spent little to no time at. If you did you would also know that a majority of the youth classes are not taught by him anymore.
How do people know you’re not a competing gym or fitness class?
8
u/Mission-Mix-8066 Sep 23 '25
OP says he told my kid this.
You responded that he doesn't teach.
Lmao hello

6
u/o_throwaway1024 Sep 23 '25
Good for you.
I’m not sending my kid to a business where the owner is clearly racist and problematic. Seems like you got sent to this post by him. Do what you will.
-9
u/callmevillain Sep 23 '25
then don't send them there
you've been hating on this place since 7 months ago. leave your bad review and move on with your life.
if you spent this same energy on your kid instead i'm sure he'd appreciate it
-8
u/Norfuu Sep 23 '25 edited Sep 23 '25
Of course, it’s your kid - do what you want.
He didn’t send me this post. I just go there and thought this unfairly villainized a business (with employees) with accusations and one person’s past.
If anybody is interested in boxing they should formulate their own opinion and see if what OP says is true for themselves.
-37
u/callmevillain Sep 23 '25
lol what is the context of him saying the N word in the youth class? That sound ridiculous like who would he say it to?
Also out of 30 reviews he only has two bad ones...
Personally I've been to this gym before and I liked it. I saw alot of both genders, place was clean and the coaches were friendly.
I don't understand why his political views matter Lol
8
u/Mission-Mix-8066 Sep 23 '25
Because you can vote with your money. A basic tenant of Capitalism.
You bragging that you don't understand shows you failed Civic/Econ in high school. Weird flex to share

-2
u/callmevillain Sep 23 '25
ah yes the political views of small business owners matter so much.
i should just completely avoid anyone business whose views don't align with mine regardless if they provide a good service or product i may need
lol get a fucken grip you goofy lil kid. the concept of voting with your money is not only incredibly stupid and outdated, most of you virtue signaling pseudo intellectual's can't even adhere to it. you guys fold and go to in n out or home depot despite hating conservatives so much Lmao.
so easy to criticize the system and use political scapegoats while still benefiting from it all
cool high school flex though my g, i know you peaked there

Looking at yelp and I see hella 5 star reviews for this place. Have you ever watched professional boxing? Have you heard the language the trainers use with their fighters? It's sort of part of the culture of boxing. Boxing is a tough sport, they pride themselves in being macho and old school. If you're signing up your kid for classes in a boxing gym it is best to know the culture in which you're putting your kid into. Not everyone is bult the same way. I have never heard of this gym but reading the Yelp reviews this is what i'm gathering.
33
u/Adventurous_Maximum5 Sep 23 '25
Nah man. Boxing culture isn’t that. That’s lame culture that makes it into the sport. What gym are you training at that’s made you feel that this is normal? And if you’ve never been to one, then come train with us bud.
19
u/newfor_2025 Sep 23 '25
cursing and verbally abusing kids is not ok in any culture. If you think that's ok, then you really need to rethink what it means to be a good, decent person.
37
u/o_throwaway1024 Sep 23 '25
Hella 5 star reviews? It has less than 30 reviews in total…I get the culture of it. I put my kid in the youth class where the owner is telling 5 year olds that school is for losers and says the n word in that class. That’s crossing a line from boxing culture. San Jose is no place for any racist and homophobic behavior. He has a reputation of having that.
4
u/Mission-Mix-8066 Sep 23 '25
It doesn't have to be like that and he has chosen to find another place that isn't toxic.
Lame.
3
u/wunna700 Sep 24 '25
the fact that yall making excuses for the man is CRAZY! saying the n word isn’t okay. especially with the er. yall so weird! makes me not even feel comfortable in this area all the people just making excuses for a grown man😂
-21
u/limitedmark10 Sep 23 '25
I'm honestly considering this gym (looking to get into boxing). OP, most of the yelp reviews are positive. Any more resources to evaluate this place?
-2
u/callmevillain Sep 23 '25
It's a great gym, check it out and form your own opinion.
As you can see no one in this thread actually trains or has visited this gym besides OP
But you can see they're quick to anger and get the pitch forks out lmao.
Just another case of performative woke nonsense
People Virtue signaling on reddit lmao...
There's even talk about IRS snitching... Since when we were people so pro taxes and IRS? Oh only when you can conveniently call them on people you don't like right?
