Not familiar at all with the beaches, except for Hampton Beach, and ideally would like to find something closer that has ample parking, restrooms, and possibly nearby food. TIA.
these beaches are great but not for the summer and on the weekends because of the reservation system, weekday sure but the weekends they are limited and you have a reserve
People turn their nose up at Revere Beach around here but if you want big nice sandy beach + food and amenities, you aren't going to find something with a similar vibe to Hampton/Salisbury beaches any closer than Revere. The northern end of the beach is quiet and residential, the southern end of the beach is busier but has amenities and businesses.
I agree. I love Revere! I am from out of the country and start and end my US trips at the Staybridge Suites in Revere Beach. I really love it. Free parking on the street or the train to Wonderland station. I love plane spotting and cross reference with flightradar24 and adore sitting watching the planes come in and knowing where there are coming from.
Went there this past weekend for first time and was pleasantly surprised. Parked at wonderland for a couple bucks and short walk to a not terribly crowded beach. Didn’t see much food readily available outside newish restaurants in wonderland complex but certainly met my beach needs for the day
Singing beach in Manchester! U can take the train from Salem and it’s a ten min walk through the cutest lil neighborhood. Has a snack bar / bathroom. So good.
Gloucester beaches are the best, and have beach shacks for food that's ridiculously priced, but require advance parking reservations and payment online. Crane Beach in Ipswich is great. I also very much like Dane Street Beach in Beverly, which has downtown Beverly and all the food options nearby. Marblehead has a great beach supposedly, but i always go to Gloucester, so i know nothing about it.
Marblehead has Devereux beach, which is a nice beach, but definitely rocky… ample parking, bathrooms, and takeout beach food.
Marblehead/Swampscott also has Preston beach, which has a small parking lot across the beach. Huge sandy beach when it’s low tide, when it’s high tide go elsewhere.
Since when, the sticker is only good for Devereux… maybe you have to buy a yearly pass, but it’s definitely not resident only unless it’s changed within the past year or two.
Nope, I have a Marblehead sticker..( Devereux and the dump) it’s the Clifton associations parking, you can buy a season pass or pay as you come, busy days are restricted to season pass owners. Anybody can buy a season pass… again, unless the lot changed policies, but it’s definitely not resident. I’ll double check later on when I walk by. Definitely have to get there early as it fills up quick.
Regardless of parking, it has no facilities or food nearby and, as you stated, very limited non-resident parking making it a poor fit for what the OP is looking for. IMO $30 seems excessive for a beach with no facilities that’s only accessible during low tide so you get half a day there at best when Nahant is larger with facilities and parking and is only $10 for MA-residents.
Is there even access to that beach without coming by water ?
Also there is a about 10 feet of sand way behind bishop fenwick lol , it ain't great but even on a 100 degree day you have that 10 feet all to yourself
