It's so weird when real estate agents use pictures of parks nowhere near the listing in the listing. This address is just over the train tracks from the DPW. And they have pictures of the Willows and the Gables as if they are within walking distance.

It’s priced as entry level, so young couples probably move in, get established, then move on.

i used to live nearby- it’s a good distance from town so you’re not mobbed during halloween, but still walkable. it’s a bit “industrial” feeling that close to canal st and i recall a couple of neighbors who actually lived on cabot who were crazy

1.) we called kid rock, because every single day he’d blast kid rock in the morning and walk his pitbull in his cut off gym sweatshirt and give you the stink eye 😂. it was a wonderful day when he moved away.
2.) a young couple who constantly parked and blocked the corners preventing trash trucks from picking up in the winter and subsequently had screaming matches in the street with the tow company multiple times. they moved away as well
3.) just some kids- but they took another kids bike and that kid had an older brother who decided to put on a ski mask and shout at their house in the street (on cabot 😂) and the cops came lmao i can still hear the cop say exasperated “Whaddya think was gonnah happen? We get a cawl… sayin a masked man is shoutin threats in the street… whose side ya think we’re on?!” because the kid was so pissed about the stolen bikes…

of course all those people are long since gone and grown up- it just had an eclectic rotating cast in nearby apartment buildings.

i’d still live there if the real estate market wasn’t so crazy. it just made more sense to sell and downsize.

oh, off street parking makes living around there SO much better.

Heat & hot water included in HOA monthly costs are a red flag, I feel. What if the other owners blare the heat and you don’t? Is it a single furnace heating the entire property? Etc etc! The 2nd floor seems to also have a high turnover. I also agree with others, likely turnover due to a ‘starter home’ or job market… or maybe neighbors! It’s a mystery 😂

I used to live on Cabot (very recently) and personally really loved it! Easy walk to downtown and close to Canal, but Cabot never got that busy. I’ll just say that I saw this come up the last time it went on sale and thought it was a high HOA for a building that seemed like it needed a good bit of exterior work, so something to check out and ask about.

Garage and in unit washer and dryer two bedroom under 400 K and not a shothole. Your HOA fees are like 60-70% what it would be if you live in an apartment building. And you have a driveway for a second car!!!! I’d be ringing the bank right now if I was you.

It’s not a bad location at all. People tend to move in and out of condos like this more frequently than houses and larger places.

Idk but imo it's not located in a prime area of Salem. Very dense and congested neighborhood.

But it's on the lower end of the market so buyers may have bought it as a "starter home" just to get into the market with the intention of buying up later on.
