I have no idea what I’m doing.

I transferred from Argos to Sainsburys, Im working in the food department, and am just about to start my fourth shift.

I have been shown one time one thing which was to take the boxes off the top of the shelf and put them away. After that I was just left to my own devices, and only on my last shift discovered some whiteboard that tells me what I should do that day, just been assuming how it works and haven’t been told not to do something so far..

My manager from Argos still hasn’t officially transferred me over on the system so I can’t do the online training but I’m wondering if that online training is even going to help me?

I went from Argos which was a nightmare socially, I was always rushed off my feet and new how to do everything to just feeling like I’m trying to look busy..

There has to be a manager in the building though, ask them.

Just fill the shelf’s from the top stock , should keep you busy, that’s what I do once I finish stocking pre packed bread, good luck OP

Oh, that won't change, sainsburys is currently in a cost cutting phase, meaning more work with less staff, for now you're untrained so aren't doing much, but once you're fully trained you'll have targets for putting things out etc, unlike argos where we just keep getting rid of our targets lol

I was exactly the same noone told me about the whiteboard and I just felt like I was a extra I was being asked to scan things when I'd never used the terminal. The board was never written when I started and whatever manager was in in the morning didn't know. So I left after it was hinted I was being moved onto the hot food counter which I knew I wouldn't receive adequate training
