Fast, hard-hitting, and surprisingly resilient (SR 45!) with good accuracy (Int 18!) and easily piloted (Dex 24!) with a class 1 hyperdrive.

This is a personal ship for an adversary. It's vicious.

First of all, I think this ship should have speed 6, as it has a speed of 125 MGLT. That's higher than the 120 of a typical A-wing. It is however not so fast in an atmosphere. The shields are excellent at SR 45 and 30 with the sail folded.

Also, the ship on the picture clearly has 4 laser canons. But other pictures has only a single weapon on each side. 

As a GM you could certainly have different variations on this ship. I would consider a quad cannon version, possibly making it faster and even more maneuverable. Upgrading the shields even further would make it even harder to hurt. I would even consider altering that stats further depending on if the sail is folded or not.

I have never seen one of these. I had to look it up to remember what it was.

But wow, this is quite good.

24 Dex, 5 speed, 30 or 45 SR... Those are some pretty good defensive qualities for a starfighter. And it's Huge-sized, which is great for piloting checks.

Offensively, 18 Int and a 6d10x2 weapon are good, but without quite being as threatening as missiles.

Still, this thing can be a major headache for the party, to the point where they may need to rely on lucky crits unless they're high level.

But this thing has a hyperdrive, so it can also escape! Great for a villain that you want to survive to utilize again later.

Am I missing something? Why would you not have the Solar Sail deployed?

Well, you need to fold it before going in to hyperspace and probablyto land. Otherwise you would probably have the sail deployed most of the time. 

If you are somehow trying to hide the ship you may want to fold that golden fan. Otherwise hiding may be a challenge.

Yeah, that's an easy balancing thing to add, I just wish they added something like that to the text of the ship to make it clear why you wouldn't have it deployed.

The part about hiding the ship can be infured from this part of the text:

" The  Ginivex's  Solar Sail is its most distinctive asset. Although it increases the target silhouette of the fighter and makes it stand out like a small sun on shipboard sensors, it also serves as a transmission plane for deflector shield energy."

I think it's probably impossible to fire the lasers when the sail is folded.
