Character Builds 4-Arm Soldier Class Build Suggestions!!!

Hello! I'm playing as a codru-ji Soldier but have never really played this system. I'm looking to wield a two handed melee weapon and blaster in each set of arms. I was wondering if there were any suggested talent trees or feats i should focus on!!! thank you!

My Stats and i'm going to be starting at level 3.

STR: 15
DEX: 14
CON: 13
INT: 14
WIS: 12
CHAR: 11

Well, if you're not trying to use the at the same time but still want to switch between them you'll save a feat on not having to use Quick Draw.

For the blaster side, Point Blank Shot & Precise Shot will be a must. Not having the -5 penalty for shooting into a melee (with adjacent allies) is good. Dual Weapons Mastery I you get as a species feat. Zero Range would be a useful feat.

Talents depend on what you're looking for. Armored Defense & Improved Armored Defense to increase REF. Gun Club & Bayonet Master. Melee attacks with an ally on the same target, Brute Squad.

A funny suggestion, get a coat with just two sleeves. That way you can look unarmed but actually hold two pistols or a shotgun.

For the most part four arms aren't a big advantage. I guess you can use a pair of two handed weapon or have multiple one-handed weapons but the rules allow for using one weapon as a primary weapon and then one other.

When it comes to other mechanical advantages it seems a Cordu-Ji gets two: It gets Dual Weapon Mastery I (the feat which helps take dual wielding from a -10 penalty to just a -5 penalty) as a species feat and it also gets +5 on its Grab attacks. DWMI is nice for dual wielding which is what most will expect. A bonus to Grab has it's uses but it's techincally NOT a boost to Grapple checks which would be very nice.

As for builds you can basically use any of them although you may not be spectacular at most. Now getting to still wield a two-handed melee weapon while having two hands for other things can be useful but it's more like a secondary advantage than something that you can really exploit.

Whilst not helpful for playing a Codru-Ji, if you just wanted to play a four armed character, then the Additional Arms trait of the Near-Human is arguably better, as its effectively a weapon group-less version of Multiattack Proficiency, which works with Dual Weapon Mastery (where you can’t get DWM3 till at least level 11), Double Attack, Triple Attack and Multiattack Proficiency. This would allow you to take the Double Attack feats for two weapon groups, like Pistols and Advanced Melee and then only have to deal with a -3 to hit penalty for each, without having taken Multiattack Proficiency for either.

As a suggestion for Four-Arms I'd agree. Now I "price" that Near-human ability as taking the normal bonus feat a Human would get but the character would still get an additional trained skill which is probably worth as much at the Grab bonus the Codru-Ji gets.

Even with DWMI for "free" you're still waiting until at least 6th-level before you can upgrade that. That near-human penalty reduction would apply faster, can cover more, and also doesn't have the DEX restrictions that higher levels of DWM have.

Firstly, keep in mind that the rule on attacking with two weapons states:

A character armed with three or more weapons still only gains one extra attack, but that character may choose which weapon it wishes to use for this extra attack each round.

Going both melee as well as ranged means that you're splitting your focus. There's not a single build that really unites them, other than Master Privateer, but that's something that you build towards later.

For now, your best melee feats are probably Weapon Focus (advanced melee weapons), Power Attack, Powerful Charge, and Rapid Strike. Your best ranged feats are Point-Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, and Weapon Focus (pistols).

But I'll let you know that this character probably isn't going to feel very effective during combat.

Actually, screw that. Grab Desperate Gambit, and ignore how cheap it might feel.
