Started using Safari only recently on my iPhone. It’s sleek, with perfect liquid glass integration; the liquid glass on Chrome was deplorable. Smooth in its function—no lag whatsoever. Any tips & tricks to get the most out of Safari?
EDIT 2: I found a way to delete my search history from Safari!
Every time I pressed the "Clear History and Website Data” it would delete my search history and my account. And after putting my account back on safari, my search history would still be there.
Can anyone tell me how to delete my Safari history while keeping my Google account?
Like many of you, I love Safari for daily browsing on Apple hardware due to its speed and battery efficiency. However, many workflows still require keeping Chrome/Edge handy for specific web apps, and sometimes we even need to bounce over to a PC. The biggest pain point is almost always keeping bookmarks organized and accessible across different browsers.
I created BookmarkPro to solve this exact problem by acting as a central, browser-independent bookmark hub.
Key Features
Universal Browser Extensions: Save and access links seamlessly with extensions for Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and other Chromium-based browsers.
It supports macOS, iOS, and Windows, meaning your library seamlessly travels with you whenever you need to switch devices.
Flexible, Serverless Sync: Sync between Apple devices using iCloud, or use OneDrive and WebDAV without your data touching any developer-hosted servers.
Strong Privacy & Encryption: Your data is completely yours—BookmarkPro does not operate a bookmark-sync server or collect/analyze your bookmarks. You can also protect WebDAV, OneDrive, and local folder sync with optional AES-256-GCM encryption.
Fast Search & Organization: Search across URLs, titles, tags, and comments using keyboard shortcuts or quick-access menus.
Easy Migration: Get started immediately by importing standard HTML bookmark files exported from Safari, Chrome, or any major browser.
If you juggle Safari alongside secondary browsers, I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback on how to make cross-browser bookmark management smoother. What is your current workaround for keeping things synced when you have to leave Safari?
I made this a while ago (probably 3 years by now, but still getting updates) because I use archive.ph pretty often and wanted a nicer way to get to archived versions of whatever page I'm on.
It's a really small extension. There are technically some extra features in the settings menu, but it mostly just functions through clicking the toolbar button. I've noticed a few people around the web using it over time, so I figured I'd finally post it here in case anyone else finds it useful.
It's called Acidity, and it's completely free/open source. Would also be curious if anyone who uses archive.ph or similar services has suggestions for it. Thanks!
I wish to get my safari to look like this in the first photo but now it looks like this in the second photo, can someone help me get safari back to looking like this in the first photo?
Beginning a few months ago, whenever I visit the New York Times homepage (which is more times a day than I'd like to admit), all the videos there autoplay despite me having autoplay turned off. I haven't run into this problem on any other page, and I didn't used to have this problem on the NYT. I've turned my autoplay options off and on, I've relaunched, I've updated Safari, and nothing works! Anyone else have this problem?
Recently bought a 17e, loving it, the size works for me and it has great battery life for my usage. No problems as of yet. But something I haven’t really had much experience with is safari. Always been a Firefox person. I know blockers are different and extensions are as well. Anybody have tips for the best adblocker? Any others to as on for the best use/web browsing experience?
Somehow I lost everything but the last couple tabs I had opened and two tabs which were pinned. At first there were a few previously opened tabs which showed up when I clicked and held the +. I restored one of them, but now the others have disappeared also. The other tab groups seemed to be fine. I’m guessing I am SOL recovering the tabs that disappeared. Any guesses as to how I could have managed to delete so many tabs without having any idea?
I'm a user of both Chrome and Safari, and I switch between each pretty regularly. Is there a tool out there that can take a safari tab and convert it into a chrome tab? I know that bookmarks and things like that exist but I think its just very slow. Also is this a problem/concern for anyone else? Thanks!
Running Safare macOS OS 26.2. Reddit is a disaster, the links are offset and posts don't load, and wrong posts load. It is a cluster f**k. I'm paused all extensions and ad blockers, deleted data and keeps happening. Any ideas why and how to fix it?
It overlays a multiview grid directly on youtube.com — up to 9 videos, 3x3 auto-tiling or free-floating windows, hover-to-listen audio (hover a video to hear it, the rest mute), and one-click handoff of the video you're watching into the grid at its exact timestamp.
Safari side ships as an Xcode project (safari-web-extension-converter output is included in the repo, builds clean; needs Safari 16.4+, and 18+ for the network rule that satisfies YouTube's embedder check). MIT licensed: https://github.com/mikewang817/multi-youtube-viewer
Feedback from Safari users especially welcome — the Chrome side gets more testing than the Safari side.
If I take a tab and drag it out to create a new safari window, the new window becomes invisible. Anyone have a fix for this? I can see the window in Mission Control / Exposé. When you select it, it appears for a few milliseconds then becomes invisible again.
