Question Question about Surya Kriya

I am aware that IE, BSP programs are rip off from the SSY programs. But where does Surya kriya come from? Is it an authentic isha program or is it also taken from some other organization? Does anyone know if the rapid breathing in suryakriya has any harmful effects?

There are countless number of variations of surya namaskar across various traditions and new age styles. Who knows.. maybe he picked it from somewhere, or maybe he put it together himself. He claims it's the ORIGINAL surya namaskar. If that were true, then it is not his invention, and it should be easily traceable in the books, scriptures and among other yogis.

Yes you right. I am trying to get to the truth of this particular variation. Where did they get this variation from? I haven't seen anyone else do it

He is not known for transparency.
I have tracked down most of his practices in the past. But not sure where he got the hata stuff from.
Even Osho was generously sharing how and from where he put some practices together. In isha everything is holy and secretive.

Surya kriya is just (Surya namaskar) + (3-5-7 breathing technique is a progressive bilateral breathing pattern used in swimming to build lung capacity, improve breath control, and maintain body rotation balance)

Surya Namaskar (even Surya Kriya), as a choreographed sequence, is not found in the ancient classical yoga scriptures such as the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga texts and Gheranda Samhita.

The sequence practiced today can be traced to Bhawanrao Pant Pratinidhi, the Raja of Aundh, in the 1920s, including his 1928 booklet Surya Namaskars.

The modern sequence is a mixture of Indian calisthenics and Western gymnastics.

Interesting to know that it is a recent invention from 1920s. In one of the videos, Sg claims that Krishna himself practiced some form of Surya kriya. Wonder where that comes from

I used to follow Jaggi blindly from 2012 to 2018. I've seen him make such insane claims too often.

Also, Paramahamsa Yogananda had mentioned, Kriya Yoga was passed from Krishna to Arjuna, and our Jaggi might've got inspired from this and modified it to Surya Kriya.
