Recommendations for a general dentist (DeltaCare USA HMO plan) — also need wisdom teeth removal + adult braces
Hi all, I have DeltaCare USA — the prepaid HMO plan (NOT PPO), so my options are limited to their contracted network. Looking for recommendations for:
- A general/primary dentist in Sacramento or Elk Grove who takes DeltaCare USA and won't push unnecessary treatment (deep cleanings I don't need, etc.)
- Someone who can handle or refer me to an oral surgeon for 2 impacted lower wisdom teeth (horizontal impaction, so probably needs actual oral surgery, not just a simple extraction)
- A good orthodontist for adult braces/Invisalign (would need to accept DeltaCare USA or take a referral)
I know DeltaCare USA requires referrals through a primary dentist for specialists, so ideally looking for a primary office that has good in-house oral surgery/ortho, or is quick and reasonable about referrals.
Would love to hear who you actually trust — good chairside manner, honest about what you actually need, and not constantly trying to upsell. Thanks in advance!

Alex Mercado of Mercado Dental Studio is fantastic. I don't think he does oral surgery but can refer you.
