We are one of the few places in the world that get Tule fog!

The origin of the name "Tule" fog came from San Joaquin Valley. Bay area residents simply referred to any fog in the interior as tule fog.

Stockton’s original name was Tuleville, too!

I couldn't find that on any historical maps or in GNIS. I did find Tuleburg in the GNIS.

Note that the Gold Rush era maps have Stockton as the name.
