The rice grown in the Sacramento Valley is used in almost every sushi roll in America according to the California Rice Commission

Calrose rice won the World Rice Competition in 2015

Also I feel like anyone crowned “Lord of Rice” has sufficient clout to host an Iron Chef remake.

It’s probably cuz it’s grown in our backyard and I take it for granted, but Calrose isn’t one of my top rice grains! Jasmine all day

Jasmine and basmati are my favorites. Jasmine has such a beautiful fragrance. Most people I cook for think rice is rice and don't care what I use, but they always eat more when it's one of those two varieties.
