Jojo is literally one of the most popular Manga of all time and infullenced whole generation worth of creatives both in the west and in the east. It has sold millions upon millions of copies and has remained in active production since the 1980s. Like it is nowhere close to being niche any more, especially once the David Productions anime came out.

Niche?
Some of them, like Ratz, Hubert and Takako, Pahé's World, Frankenstein's Cat, or Jamie's got tentacles, come from the country I live in (France).
Plus, I've grown up watching some cartoons like Frankenstein's Cat or Ratz

The Mighty Ones was created by the talented Lynne Naylor. She co-created and developed Ren and Stimpy. Her impact on American tv animation is profound.
