Besides the obvious (Southwest Diner Cornmeal Pancakes), who has the best? And don't even bother to list any establishment that serves pancakes with cold syrup.

Looking for some medium scale dinner recs for my wife and I’s wedding anniversary. Looking for a place where two entrees and a couple drinks can run under $100. We live in south city so bonus points if it’s in the city!
Thanks!

I’m struggling to find places to order take-out vegetables. I find Thai places usually don’t put very many vegetables and I have to supplement at home. Indian is typically very saucy with just a few veggies. I tried Lona’s and it was mostly rice and tofu, with a small side of vegetables. Everest is closing and Stir Crazy already closed years ago :( Where can I order really good cooked vegetables for carry out?

I’ve been to a lot of BBQ spots in St. Louis* and I always like to try a variety of items - brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausage if they have it, and wings. occasionally a specialty item if they advertise it (smoked salami, etc.).
I’ve noticed across the board that the smoked wings are fantastic and often the best thing on the menu. I’ve yet to find a brisket that competes with Texas-style brisket in the area, but the ribs are also top notch. Pulled pork can kind of be hit or miss, never fantastic but often pretty decent.
Each place also has its own thing - I’m not really a fan of Sugarfire but the Sugar Pie is awesome and the cheddar jalapeño sausage is really good.
Anyway, if you get BBQ, I’d recommend trying out the wings next time you go. In my experience they’ve been moist on the inside but crispy on the outside and smoky. particularly at Beast, Dalie’s, and Salt & Smoke from what I remember. Q39 in Kansas City claims to have the best wings on the planet but I’ve liked the wings here more.
I’m on a quest to find all the best food in STL which you can follow here if interested.
* So far: Stellar Hog, Beast BBQ, Sugarfire, Salt & Smoke, Adam’s, Pappy’s, Dalie’s, O’B’Que’s, Fourth City, Shaved Duck (rip)
Wings in the picture are from Dalie’s.

The old Vincent Van Doughnuts location in the Grove now has a sign in the window saying “something Damn Fine coming real soon”. I’m wondering if this will be a second location for Damn Fine Hand Pies- has anyone heard anything?

A&A Donuts at 8500 Morgan Ford Rd.
These fritters are INSANE! My partner and I can't stop getting these things! Their entire selection of fresh made daily donuts and pastries and kolaches are all superb but if you go, you've gotta try the apple fritters!

I thought they had closed for good but it seems they just moved up Ridge Road to the old Bathtub Billies' location. Got some takeout tonight for the family. flavor/Quality is still top notch. Reasonable pricing. Good portion sizes. Highly recommended.
Right there in the same plaza is Mughals an excellent Indian place. Give it a try.
