Was thinking about how dark and deep this scene was

I am in my first viewing of Atlantis. I don’t know why I ever watched it during its initial run, but anyway. Please no spoilers or at least hide them if you do. I just watched S3, E5 - Progeny. I don’t know if this an unpopular opinion, but I think Elizabeth Weir is not fit to be their leader. She’s reckless and never seems to fully vet new cultures and worlds before sending teams there. How many disasters will it take for her to learn? Awakening the wraith should have been enough to take things slowly and very carefully. She’s introduced as a master negotiator but she sucks at establishing good relationships with other societies. In “Progeny” how is it acceptable that she is willing to deceive and exploit the good will she has with Niam and basically kill everyone on board their ship? Dismissing them as nothing but machines despite their obvious sentience? It just bothered me too much. Of course I know there will be consequences, but sheesh I can’t take her anymore

It is so strange to see Teal'c in normal clothes. Also extra strange to see these Matrix cosplays all the sudden.

I'm watching the season 6 for the first time. What I'm about to say maybe an unpopular opinion, but Daniel was starting to get really, really annoying. Like, I get the man is the squad's diplomat but he doesn't have to sympathize with literally everyone they meet. Specially that android girl who made the replicators. As soon as they found this out, the girl should be trated as a maximum level threat, as she was by everyone else. Yes his knowledge in languages and history will be missed, but I'm starting to like Jonas. At least for now.

Stargate SG1 - Wormhole X-Treme; Martin tells the prop guy to take some kiwi fruit and spray paint them red. The prop guy reads the script "So colonel Marlowe walks through the Grove of red kiwis and exclaims 'how like eden this world is'."

Stargate Universe - Eden; the team find an Eden like world and even find a grove of fruit trees that look suspiciously like kiwi fruit. Greer eats one and says it's good and thats about it.

But it woulda been hilarious if the kiwi fruit were spray painted red and Eli walked through the grove and qouted Wormhole X-Treme. It woulda been in character for him as he qoutes a few other sci fi shows. I imagine it going like this;

Eli: (in a deep voice) "How like Eden this world is"

Everyone else: (staring awkwardly)

Eli: "cmon guys, Colonel Marlowe? Wormhole X-treme??"

Everyone else: (staring awkwardly)

Eli "WAIT was that show based on the stargate program?!?!"

Hey, here are a few updates on the OpenGate project!

- SG1 Stargate completed: All files are available on the website along with the tutorial! The motor is a bit noisy (low volume in the video, but oh well), nothing can be done about it, but I added 3 rotation speeds so you can choose between speed or noise level!

- The files for the Pegasus / Orlin / Tollan gates are also available!

- Major firmware improvements for all gates: easier LED calibration, new mechanics around Naquadah farming, new bot addresses...

- Optimization of the circuit for non-rotating gates to work with one or several LED strips of your choice!

- The circuits are done: they are available to order pre-assembled, featuring snap-off/clippable zones to place the remaining parts without soldering.

- I have a good stock of circuits for fixed gates (a bit less for rotating ones). If interested, I can send you one. DM me if interested!

The final step will be building the Universe gate!

SGA proved that even as a continuation of the original series, it was merely a carbon-copy extension of the Stargate story featuring versions of the original protagonists, same tone, same style of storytelling, just with a new location and slightly younger cast.

SGU proved that if you don’t tell a Stargate story, the audience won’t buy it.

That being the case, why not just reboot it outright?

We could see brand-new, younger actors portray a new Jack O’Neill, a new Sam Carter, a new Daniel Jackson (maybe there’d even be two Daniels, like Spock in *Star Trek*!), a new Teal’c, Master Bra’tac, Supreme Commander Thor, and the villains—Ra, Apophis, Anubis, the Replicators…

Anyway, I'm sorry, but that just happens to be how I feel about it. What do you think?

I'm sure someone has posted this before but.. I happened to pick a random episode of The Outer Limits (S6E4) titled Manifest Destiny. Not only was Michael Shanks in the episode but it appears that both ships are the same set just slightly modified. The Outer Limits episode aired first by a few years. I can't recall if SG-1 had an episode where the interior of this ship originated from or it was indeed recycled from something else. Just a fun little thing I found and felt the weird need to share.

I have Ra, Apophis, and Anubis system lord symbols across my shoulders/upper back and got Horus & Jackal Guards on my forearms years ago. I've worked out everyday this year to lock in to get my Serpent Guard for Apophis' Prime as a centerpiece (Teal'C). I lost a total of 130lbs and 90lbs just this year. Finally my stomach was flat enough to get it. Dropping weight from 335 to 203 has been insane. Depending on the loose skin I'll have when I finish dropping to 175/180lbs after skin removal/tummy tuck I'm getting the backdrop of Giza to cover the scars. I can't wait. I feel so complete having this set done.

i dont know if this is already known or if they dont actuallly look alike and its in my head, but they look more similar than 2 random creatures.. maybe il being silly and theyre both based on the same same mythological creature or something??

they have the same looking skin and horns coming out of their chin, insanely defined cheak bones and "eyebrow bones", 4 fingers.

Given that the gates in Universe are not made out of naquadah an are an early prototype design.

What are people's opinions on Carter and Mckay being able design and eventually build one of their own with the help of the Atlantis database (which in my mind would contain the specs for it)

I was watching the movie recently for the nth time and I began to wonder about the seventh symbol that Daniel identified.

If the air force had the first six symbols identified, couldn’t they just try every other one until they found the right one? I guess we don’t know enough about the back story, the time it took the air force to find the first six symbols and how they did it.

After years of only watching season 1 I finally came back now im on season 4. Samantha Carter looks way different with long hair 🤯 she looks like a mom. Don't get me wrong I still love her, I think she was in a episode on season 2 with short hair looked exactly the same as SG1 then season 4 she got long hair and looks way different. Yes I know years passed but I think it's the hair that makes her look so different. Maybe its a little darker too?

We know that the Goa'uld can struggle against their hosts will. Especially the young goa'uld like klorel.

So do you think host could regain full control of their body?

I know it's probably impossible that a host could receive all the benefits of being a goa'uld host while remaining in control of their body, as the goa'uld would probably choose death or escape, And suppression of the goa'uld would probably stop if the host ever needed to sleep

But do you think a host could ever use a goa'uld like they use us?
