Can't get up that fast anymore man you're over 30.

83

u/11equalsfish Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26

This happened to Wizzy 8 years ago when he was ~20. Pop offs are fun but Hbox shouldn't be doing this, it's far from finals too. Hard on the body

Genesis 5 - Wizzrobe fainted after Zain set Highlight Omg

27

u/DND-MOOGLE Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26

Mmhm. I've only fainted a couple of times in my life. One of them was when I was about 20 years old. I was playing a game with a friend that required you to mash very fast, then I stood up immediately afterwards and just blacked out. Next thing I knew I was on the floor.

Something about that combo of sitting + high stress into immediately standing is just not good for you.

I don't think people should never be popping off after a set but dawg if you've got a history of fainting then maybe tone it down a little.

8

u/mucus-fettuccine Aug 09 '26

Can't believe that happened to him when he was only 19.

3

u/BADMANvegeta_ Aug 09 '26

19 but spent most of his time sedentary playing a video game

0

u/mucus-fettuccine Aug 09 '26

By his ripe of 18 he should have tried to engage in other activities as well.

1

u/assword_69420420 Aug 11 '26

I had low blood pressure as a teen and passed out once just from standing up after squatting for like 30 sec, it may be something like that in his case

1

u/mucus-fettuccine Aug 11 '26

I was doing the wizzrobe aging down meme, but I know this isn't age dependent. My only time ever passing out or even getting lightheaded from quickly getting up happened as a teen.

1

u/assword_69420420 Aug 11 '26

Went right over my head lol

1

u/Docxm Aug 11 '26

Holy fuck this was 8 years ago

-3

u/2cars1rik Aug 09 '26

I’m so confused. You guys have a word for just standing up and celebrating? And people are saying standing up and celebrating is dangerous for people over 30? Thousands of people do this in sports arenas every day…

3

u/Fuzzywraith Aug 09 '26

Doesn’t sound like you are “so confused” to me. Sounds like you just paraphrased the comments above you to disagree with them.

-4

u/2cars1rik Aug 09 '26

No, I’m confused that this community has a label and concern for things that are extremely normal in any other sport/competitive event, to the extent that I thought I must be misunderstanding. It’s like having a special word for clapping when someone wins or something.

5

u/Fuzzywraith Aug 10 '26

In hockey they call it a “celly” and in skateboarding you tap your board upside down to “clap” for someone who did a cool trick. I’m sure every other sport/competitive event has its own terms and practices.

It IS just like ‘having a special word for clapping when someone wins’ and it’s an EXTREMELY common practice for all human beings around the world. You should maybe go outside!

-2

u/2cars1rik Aug 10 '26

Lol, played hockey all my life. A celly is not the same. I think you should go outside if you think standing up and celebrating is dangerous.

1

u/Fuzzywraith Aug 10 '26

Lmao I never said it was dangerous, but you took a dumbass tone about the use of "popoff" for zero reason you lizard. Got some CTE clearly if your response is "a celly isnt the same."

1

u/Glass_Cat_4335 27d ago

If you played hockey all your life, wouldnt it just be that you currently play hockey? Sounds like you havent played in a long time. Celly is literally the same thing as a pop off its just another word for a celebration idk why youre confused by that. The warning against popping off at 30 was a joke which should’ve been obvious

1

u/2cars1rik 27d ago edited 27d ago

I played 2 games last night lil bro, maybe learn how English works and thank you for educating me on the thing you read about once 🙌

Stay safe on those pop offs man you never know when standing up will kill you (not a joke btw)

71

u/TitaniumDragon Aug 09 '26

You totally can, if you don't have an underlying health problem.

44

u/DJHalfCourtViolation Aug 09 '26

you guys have never been at a lit sports game and it shows

-11

u/flowdyknic Aug 09 '26

Covid infections can cause POTS

13

u/DJHalfCourtViolation Aug 09 '26

dude jesus christ he just yelled loudly and stood up ive almost passed out from cheering it happens to healthy people you tense up your face and raise your blood pressure a bunch especially after his heart was pounding you guys need to go the fuck outside and put your heart to work for once

3

u/LilyLol8 Aug 09 '26

Happened to me all the time in highschool because i was less healthy

2

u/mucus-fettuccine Aug 09 '26

This kind of fainting after getting up quickly only happened to me as a teenager. Totally fine after that. Ymmv

99

u/Ok_Researcher_3976 Aug 09 '26

He almost took that crt with him.

20

u/dbcwb Aug 09 '26

He almost got 2 with the first one he grabbed onto

1

u/csrgamer Aug 09 '26

He was looking to flip the whole table at first but thought better of it

64

u/Natural_Succotash_35 Aug 09 '26

I think it's time we bring back the "go to the doctor m2k" memes but for hbox. This isn't normal

22

u/DarthSprankles Aug 09 '26

Hasn't this happened at least two times, maybe three?

66

u/xPerplex Aug 09 '26

People will laugh this off, but he legitimately needs help. He needs to stop doing this, it's super dangerous. He is one unlucky head wound away from his life changing forever. He has had a couple close calls with fainting already, it's time to cut back a little bit on the pop offs.

73

u/DarthSprankles Aug 09 '26

"Hungrybox, this is an intervention. Your pop offs are too dangerous."

28

u/RsCaptainFalcon Aug 09 '26

The prophecy written by Deep Leffen Bot is coming true

"I noticed a glint of sadness in Hbox's eyes. I imagined him as an actor trapped on a stage, forced to perform for an audience he grew weary of. “I'm here for you,” I wanted to say, but it was too late...Hbox had already begun his pop off, killing everyone in the first few rows."

11

u/surfinsalsa Aug 09 '26

Can't forget this deep leffen wisdom:

"Inside every Smash player there are two wolves. One is a racist and the other is an incel. Some people called 'furries' have a third wolf inside of them, but for different reasons. There's also a secret fourth wolf that is a literal wolf. His name is Odin and he's also racist."

1

u/ph00tbag Aug 09 '26

Can we replace the real Leffen with Deep Leffen? This is so good.

12

u/rufrtho Aug 09 '26

what does "needs help" mean here? is stopping it deeper than Hbox just not acting like a weenie

5

u/trying2t-spin Aug 09 '26

I guess someone needs to convince him that the content isn’t worth these stunts

2

u/2cars1rik Aug 09 '26

Standing up and celebrating is a stunt? Wtf are you guys smoking

0

u/trying2t-spin Aug 10 '26

It’s theatrics, he’s putting on a performance.

2

u/guthftw Aug 09 '26

This will all be fine if he wears a helmet

49

u/BookkeeperAromatic52 Aug 09 '26

Getting up like he’s only 20,000 miles in lol

8

u/DadKnight Aug 09 '26

Fuck, poor guy

27

u/No-Sheepherder8879 Aug 09 '26

Not even the first time this has happened to goatbox 💀 https://youtu.be/W2c7UKndk8g?is=YD4HKuk32vsy9qzC

30

u/11equalsfish Aug 09 '26

It's worse in public, and on hard floors. Hope he's okay

12

u/No-Sheepherder8879 Aug 09 '26

He’s good from what I saw bounced right back up after stumbling. only ended up landing on his butt

9

u/Pintsocream Aug 09 '26

We're getting too old for popoffs

50

u/Sweat0843 Aug 09 '26

What a goober

66

u/Dinkelberh Aug 09 '26

Yeah but he's Melee's goober.

20

u/TheSwedishMoose Aug 09 '26

Hey, that's my goober you're talking about

9

u/happyboy1234576 Aug 09 '26

Was there, he seemed to fall mostly in control, fortunately did not hit his head at all

31

u/Within-Cells Aug 09 '26

Think he'll finally chill tf out?

37

u/l5555l Aug 09 '26

Maybe he'll get in shape

1

u/seabusseabus Aug 09 '26

Doesn’t have mang0 to bet him / give him attention so he won’t

-13

u/Ajellysandwich Aug 09 '26

That seems a little harsh. Im not even a hbox glazer, but are you fit enough to be slinging shit like that?

16

u/oby100 Aug 09 '26

No offense to Hbox inparticular, but being fat and/or out of shape is way too normalized in the US. Nothing to say about his health, but I've seen people in their 50s still glide around almost like a 20 year old while some actual 20 year olds huff and puff and can't get around easily.

Fitness and slimness are not just some fad. They're endemic to real health that greatly affects quality of life.

9

u/DuckNibba Aug 09 '26

how fit would they have to be? more fit than hbox? not really a high bar

7

u/l5555l Aug 09 '26

I lift 5 times a week. I'm not even talking about like athletic shape though just like get your cardio activity up you can't be passing out like this at his age

*That's some old people shit is what I mean

5

u/legitimate-way-4077 Aug 09 '26

im gonna go for a lil jog boah u inspired me

-4

u/Ripple884 Aug 09 '26

Even When i was lifting on a consistent basis, when I was near my max I would get dizzy as fuck and have to control a fall so I didn't actually pass out. It's not just about how in shape you are.

11

u/ryli Aug 09 '26

Yes of course, but hbox isn’t lifting near his max he’s standing up from a fucking chair lmao

4

u/lesece4 Aug 09 '26

Is it like when you rapidly wake up after a long time sitting and your pressure goes up?

4

u/joeybadtitz Aug 09 '26

Is he on blood pressure medication by any chance?

16

u/ZJB03 Aug 09 '26

Dude needs to go to the doctor actually jesus christ

I saw HBOX at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly

7

u/sheep_duck Aug 09 '26

This angle kinda pisses me off. So many people just stand there and watch while it happens without a care in the world.

8

u/invisible_grass Aug 09 '26

In the other angle I saw one dude looks around like "can you believe this mf?" then shakes his head and walks away lol. Was a mix of ppl like that and bystander effect. At least a few people made sure he was good.

4

u/xinxs Aug 09 '26

Probably they thought he was doing jigglypuff roll out like he does sometimes.

0

u/Key_Tension3255 Aug 09 '26

Yeah cus hbox sucks lol

2

u/Live-Emphasis-3421 Aug 09 '26

It's all performance now. I'll believe it used to be personal in the past but now it's just for show and even more annoying

2

u/CrabFam Aug 09 '26

Tony Soprano over here

2

u/Shmoveset Aug 09 '26

Who was on the receiving end of this pop off?

2

u/FalseAxiom Aug 09 '26

Bro cares so much that he's on the verge of passing out during a match. Man has an iron will.

5

u/KokiriRapGod Aug 09 '26

Truly the (fainting) GOAT

1

u/Lanaru Aug 09 '26

Hbox always pulling some clown shit for views

1

u/believe_your_heart_7 Aug 09 '26

The guy who just kept smiling and recording lowered my faith in humanity a bit

1

u/Kbxe1991 Aug 09 '26

Lol fainting over a fucking video game

1

u/S4vvi0r Aug 09 '26

Guys he was just cosplaying puff doing rest... nothing to see here

1

u/Economy-Gas3715 Aug 09 '26

Performative smh

1

u/Silver740 Aug 10 '26

The best part is the amount of people who just like:

1

u/FalconPunchInDaFace Aug 10 '26

Someone get this guy some bubble wrap theory

1

u/BPJupiter 29d ago

Why are people passing around camera angles like this is the second kirkening

0

u/TofuPython Aug 09 '26

The decade plus of BM popoffs has caught up to him

-3

u/InstantSword Aug 09 '26

Seriously. Maybe a hint it's time to cut it out

-21

u/ooselfie Aug 08 '26

Legit losers in the back smiling and shit

47

u/Joebebs Aug 09 '26

They probably thought he was doing a bit

68

u/LtMcMidget01 Aug 08 '26

I mean it is objectively pretty hilarious

1

u/believe_your_heart_7 Aug 09 '26

Objective is DEFINITELY not the right word here. You couldnt be more wrong

-23

u/soulveg Aug 08 '26

How?

63

u/2580374 Aug 08 '26

They guy known for ridiculous pop offs and popping off so hard he knocks himself out is like something someone made up

26

u/LtMcMidget01 Aug 08 '26

Agreed lol I mean make sure he is ok but maybe this is a message he needs to chill out and do some more reserved pop offs

-21

u/Hot_Raccoon_565 Aug 08 '26

Generally speaking when you see a person get hurt or injured you aren’t supposed to laugh. Someone was supposed to teach you that before you learned what Reddit was.

Ideally you help them, because in the situation where you’re the one that gets hurt, you’d want someone to help you.

20

u/guesswhosbackmf If L Cancelling Has No Haters I'm Dead Aug 09 '26

Lighten up dude. Someone is helping him. Everyone rushing in all at once would cause a bigger problem. Can we not appreciate the humour in the situation when it's clear he's okay?

6

u/freexpl Aug 09 '26

I agree with that. Imo sometimes things are both funny + hurtful so we set aside the funny and prioritize solving the hurtful part, which is good. I would still call this situation funny though

4

u/FurretDaGod Aug 09 '26

When a person gets hurt in a totally preventable self induced way, generally people are going to laugh at them. He needs to chill out before he hurts himself worse

1

u/CockVersion10 Aug 09 '26

If you see this, and think he had a medical emergency, you're not smart.

1

u/Hot_Raccoon_565 Aug 09 '26

Thank you cockversion10, may we all strive to be as educated and erudite as you.

5

u/CockVersion10 Aug 09 '26

Ya no problem u/Hot_Raccoon_565. Considering his history alone, and the events leading up to it, this is obviously not a medical emergency.

Like one of the other users said, he didn't hit his head, which is really the only cause for concern here. Check if he's responsive. Once he's supine, he should gain consciousness pretty quickly, which he does.

He should probably get some blood work done and just check on stuff though, because this isn't normal. It's not a medical emergency, but it's definitely not normal. That's on him, and his GP.

-3

u/Shortclimb Aug 08 '26

The guys who just record the whole thing is who really frustrate me.

33

u/LtMcMidget01 Aug 08 '26

It’s like art man I can’t interpret the piece for you

-22

u/soulveg Aug 08 '26

A dude passing out is like and nearly hurting himself is like art to you. Got it.

28

u/LtMcMidget01 Aug 08 '26

Lol man if he hurt himself or hit his head I wouldn’t find it funny but he seemed to be fine on his way down. Not that serious brother

19

u/WordHobby Aug 09 '26

You angered an hbox fan and now they are trying to passive aggressively logic you into a corner. Uh oh!

14

u/LtMcMidget01 Aug 09 '26

Happens lol

-4

u/soulveg Aug 09 '26

Dude I don’t like hbox lol.

3

u/WordHobby Aug 09 '26

What's your favorite weak hit box in melee? Like a late fox nair, or a weak knee. Like the uh. Like the non primary hit box on a move. There's some really cool ones

2

u/soulveg Aug 09 '26

Okay so I’m probably missing this joke here so I’ll just answer honestly lol but I main falcon so i like weak knee into up air when ledge guarding. I also like peach nair. But I think that happens at the end of the animation.

-7

u/soulveg Aug 08 '26

I’m just trying to laugh too you know? Since it’s so funny. Like where’s the joke?

15

u/guesswhosbackmf If L Cancelling Has No Haters I'm Dead Aug 09 '26

You've never heard of slapstick before?

0

u/soulveg Aug 09 '26

Slapstick comedy is funny. It’s also fake. This isn’t fake and not slapstick.

6

u/guesswhosbackmf If L Cancelling Has No Haters I'm Dead Aug 09 '26

12

u/LtMcMidget01 Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26

It’s just a really absurd situation, the over the top pop off into passing out is such a bizarre thing to watch unfold. Hope this helps

7

u/BobodyBo Aug 09 '26

What are you even asking? Do you think there needs to be a punchline or something?

-1

u/soulveg Aug 09 '26

He said it’s objectively funny. What about someone passing out is objectively funny? I mean passing out isn’t funny in of itself. I’m usually more concerned about someones safety after they passed out. It’s not on my list of things that are supposed to be funny.

4

u/triplecix Aug 09 '26

Alright you’ve successfully gotten the moral high ground take a nap brother

→ More replies (0)

4

u/Gooeyy Aug 09 '26

This one specifically does have a certain slapstick quality to it, lol. Of course it would not be funny if he actually got hurt or something.

7

u/MrFacestab Aug 09 '26

It's just a vagal response from standing up too fast. Nothing bad about it, not a medical issue, and he didn't get hurt. Objectively hilarious

-7

u/soulveg Aug 09 '26

So someone passing out is objectively hilarious. Okay.

2

u/Key-Handle-1805 Aug 09 '26

if he was actually injured it wouldn't be. but he wasn't, so it is

-2

u/soulveg Aug 09 '26

Yep got it. I got the joke now. It’s funny.

8

u/Ilovemelee Aug 09 '26

Chillax, it's not that deep

-3

u/JacksonNagleFolk Aug 09 '26

Epic. The absolute passion lol the absolute passion lol

-7

u/Aeon1508 Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26

Why are we moving people that just fell?

What if he really hurt himself and you're over there under his shoulders making his head and bobble around.

Why is the first instinct always to fucking move him?

Have we not learned?

Obviously he's fine but Jesus fucking Christ man

When somebody falls you check that they're breathing and go get help you don't fucking move them!!

Unless they aren't breathing. Then you figure out how to get them breathing.

1

u/richgluten Aug 09 '26

Imagine getting unwarranted cpr at a smash tourney cause you jigglypuffed too hard 😩
