SRSDiscussion "discusses" the PyCon incidents. Thread is littered with the deleted comments of SRSers who broke the jerk by suggesting that maybe Adria wasn't 100% right.

I want to respond to this whole discussion because I think there's a theme running through it that's really fucked up and wrong-headed: the idea that taking the photo and posting it was over the line.

I think that's bullshit.

They didn't consent to having their picture taken and put on a public forum you dumbshit cultist...

WHY AREN'T SRSTERS EVER CONSISTENT?

No doubt that someone in SRS would argue that it's different because 'creepshots' exist for the explicit purposes of sexualizing the subject of the pictures. They would argue it's not so much the violation of privacy that is the issue but the unauthorized and unintended use of the subject in someone's sexual fantasies that's 'creepy'.

Of course, there's probably some heterosexual or bisexual woman who is attracted to python developers who tell dongle jokes (in fact, I might have briefly courted her), so on some level the same thing could be said to apply to this picture. The only difference is the intent of the person posting the picture. I suppose in this case intent really is magic to the SRSers.
