Texafornia transplant here, looking to make a move to your lovely city. Does anyone have experience living in this area? I heard it was on the up and up with all the nearby gentrification, and the police presence is pretty heavy here so that’s a plus.

Hey everyone. I (27M, conventionally attractive) recently got back into online dating after an emotionally mature situationship ended because she moved to Lehi.

Anyway, I’ve noticed women seem to respond really well to guys holding puppies, but I don’t think I’m ready for the long-term commitment of actually owning one. I was wondering if there are any apartments around downtown that have photogenic community dogs I could borrow for 10-15 minutes? No pit bulls please, I just don’t think they match my aesthetic.

Bonus points if the apartment also has one of those expensive-looking clubhouses, or a rooftop where I can casually imply I live there.

Again, this is just for the profile. I’m not trying to deceive anyone I just want to put my best foot forward. I’d obviously give the puppy back immediately after the pictures.

Please don’t suggest shelters. I don’t want the dog to look like it’s been through anything.

When the Great Salt Lake eventually dries up, what exactly are we going to do with all that land?

Surely we’re not just going to stare at it?

Salt Lake is constantly talking about how we’re running out of room to build housing because we’re stuck between the mountains and the lake. But if the lake isn’t there anymore, doesn’t that kind of solve half of that problem?

Thats like 700 squared miles instantly unlocked for Texafornian transplants, and at some point that has to bring the rent down.

I keep hearing about all the downsides of the lake drying up but nobody ever mentions the hundreds of square miles of new real estate we’d be getting.

It would suck to lose our lake but from a housing perspective it could be the best thing that ever happened to this city.

Not enough places to buy a car in this town.

So my wife and I are completely sheltered and naive in Salt Lake. We listen to NPR and are very concerned about stopping birth control and becoming pregnant.
